Common use of Choice of Vacation Period Clause in Contracts

Choice of Vacation Period. Vacation time shall be prearranged so that the normal operation of the schools can be maintained. Prearranged shall mean at least five (5) working days’ notice for any vacation except in cases of emergency. Vacations shall be granted at the time requested by the employee unless the nature of the work makes it necessary to limit the number of employees on vacation at the same time. In the event of any conflict over vacation periods, the employee with the greater seniority shall be given his/her choice of vacation period provided that he/she has made that choice within a thirty (30) day period prior to the requested vacation dates.
