Common use of COMPENSABLE LEAVE Clause in Contracts

COMPENSABLE LEAVE. Attendance is a very important part of the employee job performance at the Lansing School District. Regular attendance and punctuality are critical elements in our efforts to attain high levels of productivity, student achievement, adequate yearly progress (AYP), continuity of instruction, and reduction of substitute costs. When teachers are absent from work they are required to report their absence on the substitute reporting system utilized by the district (even if a substitute is not being requested/required). Teachers are expected to notify the district of their absence no less than two hours prior to the start of the school day (under normal circumstances). When an absence is not reported on the substitute reporting system within two hours after the start of the members work day, it may be considered a violation of this policy dependent upon the reason(s) for untimely submission.
