Compensation During Authorized Course. Employees attending any authorized upgrading courses approved by the Employer shall be compensated for loss of earnings during hours they are necessarily absent from work attending the course. All employees wishing to take part in upgrading courses under this plan, where absence from work may be involved, shall apply to their Supervisor for permission to absent themselves from the job for the purpose of attending these courses. Permission to attend without loss of wages will be at the discretion of the Employer and considering seniority and the appropriateness of the applicable course.

Compensation During Authorized Course. Employees attending any authorized upgrading courses pre-approved by the Employer shall be allowed to take time off work without loss of wages to attend the course. Where the course takes place outside the employee’s scheduled hours of work, the employee’s hours of work shall be rescheduled to enable the employee to take the course during working time. Courses that are pre-approved by the Employer shall be reimbursed by the Employer upon successful completion. Pre-approval to attend without loss of wages and to be reimbursed for the course will be at the discretion of the Employer and considering seniority and the appropriateness of the applicable course.

  • Rejection During Probation ‌ (a) The Employer may reject any probationary employee for just cause. A rejection during probation shall not be considered a dismissal for the purpose of Clause 10.

  • Union Activity During Working Hours Solicitation of Union membership or collection or checking of dues will not be conducted during working time. The Company agrees not to discriminate in any way against any employee for Union activity, but such activity shall not be carried on during working time, except as specifically allowed by the provisions of this Agreement.

  • Outside Activities During Employment Except with the prior written consent of the Board, you will not during the term of your employment with the Company undertake or engage in any other employment, occupation or business enterprise, other than ones in which you are a passive investor. You may engage in civic and not-for-profit activities so long as such activities do not materially interfere with the performance of your duties hereunder. You agree not to acquire, assume or participate in, directly or indirectly, any position, investment or interest known to be adverse or antagonistic to the Company, its business or prospects, financial or otherwise.

  • Death During Active Service If the Executive dies while in the active service of the Company, the Company shall pay to the Executive's beneficiary the benefit described in this Section 3.1. This benefit shall be paid in lieu of the Lifetime Benefits of Article 2.

  • Data Protection During Transmission DST shall encrypt, using an industry standard encryption algorithm, personally identifiable Fund Data when such data is transmitted.

  • Benefits During Leave Employees are encouraged to contact the Employer’s Benefits Office (phone # 000-000-0000, xxxxxxxx@xx.xxx) prior to any leave without pay to understand impact on benefits and learn about other points to consider.

  • Compensation During Dispute If a purported termination occurs following a Change in Control and during the Term and the Date of Termination is extended in accordance with Section 7.3 hereof, the Company shall continue to pay the Executive the full compensation in effect when the notice giving rise to the dispute was given (including, but not limited to, salary) and continue the Executive as a participant in all compensation, benefit and insurance plans in which the Executive was participating when the notice giving rise to the dispute was given, until the Date of Termination, as determined in accordance with Section 7.3 hereof. Amounts paid under this Section 7.4 are in addition to all other amounts due under this Agreement (other than those due under Section 5.2 hereof) and shall not be offset against or reduce any other amounts due under this Agreement.

  • Refund During Cooling-Off Period The PEI will provide the Student with a cooling-off period of seven (7) working days after the date that the Contract has been signed by both parties. The Student will be refunded the highest percentage (stated in Schedule D) of the fees already paid if the Student submits a written notice of withdrawal to the PEI within the cooling-off period, regardless of whether the Student has started the course or not.

  • Benefits Not Paid During Certain Periods General illness leave and short-term illness leave benefits will not be paid when an employee is: (a) receiving designated paid holiday pay; (b) on suspension without pay; (c) on a leave of absence without pay, other than leave of absence for Union business pursuant to Article 14 of the Agreement or in the case of circumstances covered under Article 22.05.
