Time Off Work. Employees required by either the Employer or the Union to attend or participate in any investigation, discussion, meeting or hearing arising pursuant to this Article with respect to any grievance shall be granted reasonable time off work by the Employer and this time shall be deemed to be time worked. Such time off work shall not be unreasonably denied by the Employer and the Employer shall only be required to pay the Employee's straight-time wages up to a maximum of 7 1/2 hours per day. Where the presence of the Employee is required by the Union, and travel is involved, the cost for transportation and expenses, including board and lodging, shall be borne by the Union.

Time Off Work. (a) An employee shall be given an unpaid leave of absence while participating in any treatment program under the Employee Assistance Program. During such period of time the Employee shall not be paid; however, in all other respects the Employee shall be kept “whole” with respect to all seniority, benefits and other rights and entitlements which would accrue under this Agreement had the employee remained working. Notwithstanding anything, if an employee who is participating in any treatment program under the Employee Assistance Program is entitled to any compensation including, but not limited to, wage payment, or payment-in-lieu, under any of the other benefit plans provided by this Agreement, then such compensation provisions shall apply and prevail. (b) Employees shall be entitled to paid time off work for the purposes of EAP consultations, as opposed to EAP treatment programs which are to be taken as unpaid time off work per Clause 32.05(a) above.

(b) Employees shall be entitled to paid time off work for the purposes of EAP consultations, as opposed to EAP treatment programs which are to be taken as an unpaid leave of absence.

Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the provisions of this Agreement concerning payment for travel, travel time and related allowances shall apply, as appropriate under the circumstances. (b) To the extent that any of the benefit plans provided by this Agreement apply to the particular circumstances of an Employee who is participating in the Employee Assistance Program, they shall so apply, providing that at all times the Employee is kept "whole" by the Employer. (c) Before using paid leave under Clause 34.05(a) above or any applicable benefit plan coverage under Clause 34.05(b) above, with respect to providing paid time off work to participate in any EAP treatment program, an Employee shall first exhaust his or her available sick leave credits under Article 23. Paid time off work for EAP consultations, as opposed to EAP treatment programs, shall not be deducted from available sick leave credits.

Time Off Work. Elected officers and Stewards of the Union may apply for time off of up, to five (5) days each calendar year to attend educational programs which are specifically, designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the officer in the performance of his or her Union duties. Each officer and/or Xxxxxxx is required to request time off at least thirty (30) days prior to the program's scheduled date. The Hospital shall not unreasonably deny the request of the Union officer and/or Xxxxxxx to attend an educational program.
Time Off Work. Attendance by any Employee at any meeting of the Joint Liaison Committee, or of any sub- committee or ad hoc committee operating under its auspices, or performing any other functions related to the activities of one (1) or more of these committees as designated and approved by the appropriate committee(s), shall be deemed to be time worked and requests for such time off shall not be unreasonably denied by the Employer. Accordingly, each Employee shall be kept "whole" by the Employer with respect to all pay, seniority, benefits and any other rights or entitlements which would accrue to the Employee under this Agreement had he or she remained working.
Time Off WorkThe Employer agrees to allow members of the Negotiating Committee the time off work without loss of regular pay or loss of scheduled days off, without loss of seniority or benefits for previously scheduled day(s) on each day the committee member meets in direct negotiations with the Employer, up to but excluding arbitration. In no event shall such attendance result in any entitlement to overtime pay. In the case of payment for loss of regular pay or scheduled days off, payment for time attending will be at the straight time hourly rate, and committee members will not be entitled to overtime payments if they exceed the hours of work as defined in article 15.01 of this Agreement.
