Common use of Compensatory Time Usage Clause in Contracts

Compensatory Time Usage. a. The immediate supervisor must authorize any compensatory time or overtime. A list will be posted, maintained, and updated weekly in a common employee area of all hours of compensatory time that employees accrue due to excess hours worked. To ensure equity in overtime scheduling, compensatory time/days will be implemented on a rotating basis for employees involved in a common work assignment/project. b. Prior to use of earned compensatory time, the immediate supervisor's approval is necessary. The employee must schedule any/all dates with her/his supervisor in advance. Compensatory time/days must be used by the close of the school year (June 30), unless earned after May 31st, which time/days must then be used by August 15th, with approval of the immediate supervisor or they will be compensated according to 4. c. below. A new list will be started on July 1 of each school year. c. If an agreed upon schedule for use of earned compensatory time is not established, the employee will be paid the current hourly wage for each hour of unused overtime, and/or for each additional hour in excess of earned compensatory time scheduled.
