Degree Differential. Nurses who hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree shall receive a differential of one (1) percent of their base hourly wage. Nurses who obtain a graduate degree in nursing or field related to the practice of nursing or health care and that is not required as a condition of employment shall receive a one-time base pay increase of 2.8%. A nurse’s pay will not exceed the maximum of the pay range.

Degree Differential. Those full-time regular employees who have earned their educational degree in their field of service, from an institution accredited by a recognized National or Regional accrediting body, or in a related and department-head approved field of service, will receive an hourly pay differential as follows: Associate's Degree $0.25/hr. Degree Differential. Employees with degrees above the highest job specifications for their classification/position shall be eligible for the following differentials (i.e. the highest degree attained over what is required for the classification): Degree Differential per Pay Period AA/AS Degree $20.00, or BA/BS Degree $30.00, or MA/MS Degree $40.00 In order for a Crafts Unit employee to be eligible for a degree differential, he/she must present the District with evidence of an earned degree from an accredited institution of higher education. Such evidence shall be in the form of an official transcript sent directly to the District by the institution which awarded the degree or an official sealed transcript provided by the employee. A foreign degree must be determined to be equivalent to a U.S. degree by an accrediting agency approved by the District. It is the responsibility of the employee to arrange for such evaluation and to provide such verification of equivalency to the District. Employees shall be eligible for the differential the pay period following the receipt of proof of the degree.
