Consideration for Overtime Work. (a) Management shall not assign overtime work to employees as a reward or penalty. (b) Employees will not be considered for voluntary overtime, when available, in the event that they fail to report for previously assigned voluntary overtime. In such cases, employees will be removed from consideration for voluntary overtime for six (6) months. (c) Employees may be excused for failure to report for voluntary overtime work in cases of personal emergencies and medical reasons, as approved by management. (d) Employees must call in within one (1) hour of reporting to voluntary overtime unless they are unable to do so due to emergency circumstances. Failure to provide a justifiable excuse will result in the removal of the employee from consideration from voluntary overtime for six (6) months. (e) Removal from a voluntary overtime list, when available, and as described in Section 3 does not preclude disciplinary or adverse action.
