Continuous service for the purpose of calculating vacation and vacation pay will be the employee’s service calculated as of June 30th in each year. The appropriate rate of vacation pay will be calculated on the employee’s earnings for the twelve- (12) month period preceding June 30th in each year. Vacation pay will normally be paid at the time vacation leave is taken, with vacation pay prorated to the leave taken as a proportion of total eligible leave. The Company will consider requests for advances on vacation pay when the employee is entitled to more than two (2) weeks of vacation leave. The Company will allow employees to request and receive vacation pay for individual full days off, if requested on forms provided prior to the end of the pay period, effective as of July 1, 2005. Effective July 1, 2008 employees eligible for more vacation than the plant shutdown may request to take their additional week(s) at any time and requests will be considered provided that they are made before March 1st. Employees will be notified of the decision one week after March 1st. Requests will be considered on the bases of department requirements for the week(s) requested. Approval of requests will be based on production demands and seniority. After March 1st the vacation requests will be considered on a first come first serve basis. At no time will there be more than: one (1) person on vacation in the shipping/receiving area, one (1) person in the cutting area, and two (2) people in the remaining production area. All outstanding vacation pay will be paid out in the last pay in June.
