Correspondence Courses. All SHU inmates will be permitted to enroll in approved correspondence courses at their own expense. DOCCS will give full consideration to requests to approve correspondence courses offered by accredited institutions of higher education that seek to provide SHU inmates with no-cost or low-cost post-secondary correspondence courses.

Correspondence Courses. Courses the student is repeating after first having taken the course under the regular grading system. Some schools, scholarship committees and honorary societies do not accept this grading system and convert grades of “Credit” to C and “No Credit” to F when computing grade point averages or may otherwise penalize students who use this option.
Correspondence Courses. NVA will permit a student to enroll in an approved correspondence course from an institution approved by the Idaho State Department of Education, in order that such a student may include a greater variety of learning experiences within the student’s educational program. High school students may earn, through correspondence, a maximum number of units of academic credit to be applied toward graduation requirements. Only courses offered by institutions recognized by the Board will be accepted. The express approval of the Principal/Designee will be obtained before the course is taken. Credit for correspondence courses may be granted provided the following requirements are met:
a. prior permission has been granted by the Principal/Designee; and
b. the program fits the education plan submitted by the regularly enrolled student. An official record of the final grade must be received by the school before a diploma may be issued to the student. Provision of educational programs and services such as HIV/AIDS education, family life/sex education, occupational education, driver education, guidance and counseling services, summer school programs, parent education programs, social work, and psychological services will be identified based on need. The Board, Principal, and staff will work together to determine the need for, and estimated cost and value of the above programs. These programs will be provided as required by Idaho Code §33-1612 and the rules governing thoroughness at IDAPA 08.02.030.
Correspondence Courses. The District will pay the cost of using US mail to all coursework related to correspondence courses to and from the unit members preferred mailing address. Unit members must provide receipts when submitting for reimbursement of mailing expenses.
Correspondence Courses non-credit-bearing instruction, and non-instructional work contracted through OCE are governed by University Policy 5400.18. Work governed by 5400.18 cannot be used to compute workload, FTE level, or benefits eligibility.
Correspondence Courses. An Employee offering correspondence courses during the period of this Agreement shall be remunerated according to the rate in Appendix H for each full credit course registrant.
Correspondence Courses. (a) Study time for employees studying by correspondence accrues on the basis of half an hour for each hour of lecture/tutorial attendance involved in the corresponding face-to-face course, up to a maximum grant of four hours per week. Where there is no corresponding face-to-face course, the training institution should be asked to indicate what the attendance requirements would be if such a course existed.
(b) Correspondence students may elect to take weekly study time and/or may accrue study time and take such accrued time when required to attend compulsory residential schools.
Correspondence Courses. 29.1.3.1 All correspondence courses must be taken from a recognized college or university and must be approved in advance by the Superintendent. Only upper division and graduate courses will be credited.
Correspondence Courses. An Employee offering correspondence courses during the period of this Agreement will be entitled to a fee of $315 for each full credit course registrant.
