Common use of Council Leave Clause in Contracts

Council Leave. A total of eighteen (18) days per school year shall be granted to work on Council business or to attend any conferences or conventions of state and national affiliated organizations, including, but not limited to, the OEA Representative Assembly. Notice of dates of attendance and names will be provided to the Superintendent five (5) days in advance of need only when a substitute is required. The District will bill OEA and no deduction will be made from the monthly check of the bargaining unit member. Up to nine (9) days of the Council’s eighteen days may be used as President’s release time. If no substitute is required, the leave shall not be usable in less than two (2) hour portions except that it shall be usable in one (1) hour portions if taken at the end of the day. If a substitute is required, the leave shall not be usable in less than one-half (½) day increments.
