Counterpart; Electronic Signatures. The parties agree that this Agreement may be executed in two or more counterparts, each of which shall be deemed an original, and together which when executed by the requisite parties shall be deemed to be a complete original agreement. Counterparts may be delivered via facsimile, electronic mail (including PDF) or other transmission method, and any counterpart so delivered shall be deemed to have been duly and validly delivered, be valid and effective for all purposes, and shall have the same legal force and effect as an original document. This Agreement, and any counterpart, may be electronically signed by each or any of the parties through the use of any commercially-available digital and/or electronic signature software or other electronic signature method in compliance with the U.S. federal ESIGN Act of 2000, California’s Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (Cal. Civil Code § 1633.1 et seq.), or other applicable law. By its use of any electronic signature below, the signing party agrees to have conducted this transaction and to execution of this Agreement by electronic means.

Each party agrees that this Contract and any other documents to be delivered in connection herewith may be electronically signed, and that any electronic signatures appearing on this Contract or such other documents are the same as handwritten signatures for the purposes of validity, enforceability, and admissibility.

YWCA Responsibilities pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code Section 18290-18307 include the following:
1. Demonstrate the ability to receive and make use of any funds available from governmental, voluntary, philanthropic, or other sources that may be used to augment any state or county funds appropriated for the purposes of this program. Each program shall make every attempt to qualify the program for any available federal funding.
2. Employ a sufficient level of culturally competent, trained and qualified paid staff to effectively carry out program activities, including those that are bilingual in Spanish and English.
3. Provide the following basic services to victims of domestic violence and their children:
a. Shelter on a 24 hour a day, seven days a week basis.
b. A 24-hour a day, seven days a week switchboard for crisis calls.
c. Temporary housing and food facilities.
d. Psychological support and peer counseling in accordance with Section 1037.1 of the Evidence Code.
e. Referrals to existing services in the community and follow-up on the outcome of the referrals.
f. A drop-in center to assist victims of domestic violence who have not yet made the decision to leave their homes, or who have found other shelter but who have a need for support services.
g. Arrangements for school age children to continue their education during their stay at the shelter.
