COVERAGE OF DUTIES. When an employee is to be absent due to a scheduled vacation for two months or less, a temporary hire shall fill in for the lost work time at the request of a Paid or Unpaid Staff member in the affected department. First consideration will be given to the qualified current station workers. When an employee is to be absent due to an unpaid, Management-approved leave, he/she shall be given a full-time replacement. No temporary hire will last more than two months without an Applicant Review Committee being formed for an interim or permanent replacement hire subject to the hiring procedure. Persons holding that temporary position may be discharged without cause. SECTION XXIII LEAVES OF ABSENCE

COVERAGE OF DUTIES. When a Public Affairs employee is scheduled to be absent for at least a week but up to two months, the employee may be required to prepare one-half of his/her on-air hours with a prerecorded or an "evergreen show." An employee will be paid one-hour for preparing each replacement program. Management guarantees that the public affairs employees' duties shall be covered by a temporary one-half time paid replacement. News and board operators shall have their duties covered on an hour-for-hour basis.
COVERAGE OF DUTIES. ‌ When a Public Affairs employee is scheduled to be absent for less than a week months, the employee may be required to prepare one-half of their on-air hours with a prerecorded or an "evergreen show." Although an employee may help identify fill-ins for their time away, it is ultimately the employer’s responsibility to ensure their duties are covered or appropriate content is broadcast.   • Civic Duties An employee who is late for work as a result of duties as a volunteer fire fighter or licensed ambulance attendant or licensed rescue squad attendant, shall be granted use of annual leave and/or accrued compensatory leave to cover the period of lateness, provided that performance of said duties may be verified by the Employer.
