Day’s Work and Week’s Work. It is recognized that the business of the TTC is continuous to the extent that it must be ready to serve its customers at any and all hours for each and every day. For employees who are members of Local 2, the work day commences at 11:30 p.m. on the previous calendar day and ends 24 hours later. It is also recognized that this continuous service requires the attention of shift employees who relieve each other in such a way that there will, at all times, be on duty one or more employees to deal with these features of continuous service requiring attention from time to time. Such change of shift notice shall be made on an Approved Change of Shift Form and acknowledged by both parties. The daily hours of work shall be as set out in the Code of Practice (Article 3) but normally there shall be an eight-hour work day and a five-day week. Day’s Work and Week’s Work. The daily hours of work shall be governed by the urgency of the work on hand, but normally, there shall be an eight-hour day and a five-day week. When the work requires a change of shift for an employee of the Maintenance Departments (except employees whose job descriptions require that they change shift or location on short notice) from the normal starting hour of the day shift to another starting hour, premium payment of an additional one-half time at basic rates shall be paid for hours worked on the first shift only at the new starting hour, unless the change is for five days or more, to take effect on the first working day of the week and at least one week’s notice is given of such a change. Plant Maintenance Department and Track and Structure Department employees assigned to work locations not directly on a T.T.C. route will be permitted to be at the T.T.C. stop location nearest to the work site at their normal starting and finishing times.

  • HOURS OF WORK AND WORK SCHEDULES 22.01 Except for employees subject to a particular work schedule according to clause 22.10, the duration of the regular work week is established at thirty-five (35) hours generally worked between 9:00 and 17:00 from Monday to Friday.

The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.

  • Shift Work Shift work is work not in excess of ordinary hours (ie 38 hours per week), but carried out wholly or partly between the hours of 7.00pm and 7.00am, Monday to Friday. Shift work is work scheduled at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of the shift. Employees required to work shift work will be paid at time and one quarter of the ordinary rate per hour for ordinary hours worked.

  • Work Day/Work Week 1. The work week shall consist of five (5) consecutive days Monday through Friday of no more than eight (8) hours per day and no more than forty (40) hours per work week. This shall not restrict the extension of the employee’s usual and customary workday or workweek when such is necessary to carry on the business of the School District. Employees who actually work more than forty (40) hours per week will receive overtime pay (time-and-a-half).

  • HOURS OF WORK AND WORKING CONDITIONS 16.01 The following paragraph is intended to define the normal hours of work and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day, or per week, or of days of work per week.

  • Day Work The work week shall be thirty-seven and one-half (37 ½) hours exclusive of lunch periods, comprising five (5) days of seven and one-half (7 ½) hours each, Monday through Friday. The work day shall be scheduled to fall between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., unless otherwise agreed.

  • Work Day and Work Week (A) The normal hours of work for all full-time employees shall be thirty-five (35) hours per week, or seventy (70) hours per two consecutive weeks. All employees are entitled to thirty-two (32) consecutive hours free from work each week, unless overtime rates are paid, as per Article 29.02.

  • Weekend Work 5.5.1 Overtime work on Saturday will be paid for at the rate of time and a-half for the first 2 hours and Double Time thereafter. All overtime worked after 12 noon on Saturday will be paid for at the rate of Double Time. An employee required to work on the Saturday following Good Friday will be paid at least 4 hours' work, at the rate of Double Time and a-half.

  • Standard Work Week The standard work week shall be thirty-five (35) hours and is composed of five (5) consecutive standard work days.

  • Normal Work Week The normal work week shall be thirty-seven and one-half (37 1/2) hours, and the normal daily hours of work shall be seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours, exclusive of a meal period. The normal work week shall be Monday through Friday and the normal workday shall be scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
