Common use of Death Leave Clause in Contracts

Death Leave. Subd. 1 Leaves of absence without salary deduction and without deduction from accrued basic leave will be granted to employees who have completed their probationary period and are regularly scheduled to work at least fourteen (14) hours per week in the event of a death in the employee's family pursuant to the rules of this Article. Death leave for employees still in their probationary period will be deducted from basic leave. Requests must be made to the employee's supervisor in writing for leave under this provision. Said written request must set forth the basis for the requested leave. Subd. 2 Up to five (5) days per occurrence will be allowed in the case of the death of the employee's parents, sister, brother, spouse, child, grandchild, or blood relation residing in the same household.
