Dental ProvidersThe Contractor shall ensure the availability of a dentist practicing in general or family dentistry within thirty (30) miles of the member’s residence. Specialty dentists such as orthodontists and dental surgeons shall be available within sixty (60) miles of the member’s residence.

Dental Providers. This provision is applicable to Providers who are dentists. (a) Main Dentists must: (1) provide children enrolled in CHIP (birth through age 18) with preventive services in accordance with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommendations, and children enrolled in Medicaid (birth through age 20) with preventive services in accordance with the Texas Health Steps dental periodicity schedule; (2) assess the dental needs of Covered Persons for referral to specialty care providers and provide referrals as needed; and (3) coordinate Covered Persons’ care with specialty care providers after referral. (b) Providers that are dentists must provide: (1) Urgent care, including urgent specialty care, within 24 hours; and (2) Therapeutic and diagnostic care within 14 days. In addition, Main Dentists must make referrals for specialty care on a timely basis, based on the urgency of the Member’s medical condition, but no later than 30 days.
Dental Providers. SafeHealth acknowledges that all ----------------- Participating Dental Providers are independent contractors and are not employees of HNL, or any HNL Affiliate. None of the parties hereto shall attempt, directly or indirectly, to control, direct or interfere with the practice of medicine or dentistry by any Participating Dental Provider.
Dental Providers a. The PIHP must have a dental provider within a 25 mile distance from any member residing in the PIHP service area. However, Your dentist choice can make a difference in how benefits are covered and how much You will pay out-of-pocket. You may have more out-of-pocket costs if You use a dentist that is a Non-Network dentist. There may be differences in the amount We pay between a Network dentist and a Non-Network dentist. Please refer to Your ID Card for the name of the dental program that Network Providers have agreed to service when You are choosing a Network dentist. Termination of Providers You will be notified of the termination of PCP and/or Hospital Provider contracts in Our Service Area. If You are receiving care from a Network Provider whose contractual relationship with Us has terminated for a reason other than a quality of care issue, Indiana law allows You to request continued Covered Services from the terminated Network Provider for a set period. Continuity of Care If Your Network Provider leaves Our Network for any reason other than termination for cause and You are in active treatment, You may be able to continue seeing that Provider for a limited period of time and still receive Network benefits. “Active treatment” includes:
