Designated Holiday within Scheduled Annual Vacation Period. ‌ When a designated holiday falls within an Employee’s scheduled vacation period, that day shall be recognized as a Designated Holiday and the Employee shall be paid in accordance with Article 28.06 – Additional Day Off.

Designated Holiday within Scheduled Annual Vacation Period. When a designated holiday falls within an Employee’s scheduled vacation period, that day shall be recognized as a Designated Holiday and the Employee shall be paid in accordance with Article 26.06 - Additional Day Off. Where in respect of any period of vacation leave, an Employee is: a) Granted bereavement leave, or b) Granted sick leave as a result of hospitalization during the scheduled vacation, or c) Granted other approved leave of absence, or d) Granted sick leave for an illness which would confine the Employee to the residence or to bed rest for a duration of more than three (3) days. A medical certificate substantiating proof of confinement will be required. The period of vacation so displaced by any of the aforementioned shall either be added to the vacation period requested by the Employee and approved by the Employer or reinstated for use at a later date.
