Develop Training Program. As directed by the TCEQ and Project Team, TWRI will modify existing training programs, such as the EPA Watershed Training Materials and those found as a result of subtask 2.1, to fit the needs of Texas professionals. The following actions have been completed during this reporting period:
a. At the June 22nd planning team meeting, it was decided that the best approach for delivering the Short Course was to follow the watershed planning approach. A draft outline of the course agenda following this step-by-step process is attached (Attachment 3). Potential speakers are identified on the outline.
Develop Training Program. As directed by the TCEQ and Project Team, TWRI will modify existing training programs, such as the EPA Watershed Training Materials and those found as a result of subtask 2.1, to fit the needs of Texas water resource professionals. The following actions have been completed during this reporting period:
a. A Planning Team meeting was held on September 11, 2009 to (1) review the course agenda and participant surveys for the third Short Course and (2) assess the need for revisions prior to the fourth Short Course in May 2010. Slight modifications will be made to the agenda to refine the course to better meet the needs of the State. The course agenda will be completed next quarter and included in the next QPR.
Develop Training Program. Training is essential for City and Port staff, consultants, project applicants and developers, and any other individuals involved with the ▇▇▇▇ Prairie HCP. Training material will be developed for individual audiences such as City permit review staff and developers and their consultants and delivered multiple times per year in the first several years to reach a wide audience of potential users. Reviews of the User’s Guide and Administrators Guide as well as the Geobrowser, could occur during training. • Develop written scope and schedule for training program.
Develop Training Program. a. An Agenda for the Short Course which takes an element by element approach to training has been drafted for discussion by the Planning Team (attached). This, along with the alternate approach of discussing the process step-by-step and other methods, will be discussed at the June 22, 2007 Planning Team Meeting.
b. ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Engineering, has expressed an interest in potentially assisting the Short Course by presenting the San Antonio River Watershed Protection Plan as a case study.
Develop Training Program. The Texas River Systems Institute will assist TWRI with planning of the Short Course curriculum through review of draft curriculum and providing comments and recommendations on changes needed to improve it. Activity this reporting period:

a. The Final Short Course agenda (attached) was completed in February 2008. Over the 4-day course, 34 presentations by 16 speakers will be made. There’ll be 5 assignments in addition to a pre- and post-test and survey. The list of instructors includes such national experts as ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ with Tetra Tech, ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ with EPA HQ, ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ with the NW Environmental Finance Center, ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ with EPA Region 5, and ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ with the SE Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission.
