Discipline – Employee Appeal. For suspension greater in severity than five (5) working days, and other discipline other than written correction, the employee shall have the right to appeal the Department Director' s decision to the City Manager or alternatively, the Union may elect to appeal the discipline to advisory arbitration before discipline is imposed. If the employee elects to appeal the discipline to the City Manager, or if the Union elects to appeal the discipline to advisory arbitration, they shall within fourteen (14) calendar days from the notice of the Department Director' s final decision submit a written request to the City Manager to appeal the discipline. If no written request is submitted to the City Manager within the fourteen (14) day time frame, the right of appeal is waived and the discipline shall become final.

  • Outside Employment Employees may engage in other employment outside of their State working hours so long as the outside employment does not involve a conflict of interest with their State employment. Whenever it appears that any such outside employment might constitute a conflict of interest, the employee is expected to consult with his/her appointing authority or other appropriate agency representative prior to engaging in such outside employment. Employees of agencies where there are established procedures concerning outside employment for the purpose of insuring compliance with specific statutory restrictions on outside employment are expected to comply with such procedures.

  • DISCIPLINE OF EMPLOYEES Section 1. Any action or behavior which reflects discredit upon the City or is a direct hindrance to the effective performance of the City's municipal governmental and proprietary functions may be considered good cause for disciplinary action against an employee and such actions or behavior which may be considered good cause for disciplinary action shall include, but not be limited to the following:
