Common use of Discretionary Leaves Clause in Contracts

Discretionary Leaves. The Chief of Police or the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners in accordance with its rules may grant a leave of absence under this Article to any bargaining unit employee where it is determined there is good and sufficient reason. The Chief of Police or the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners shall set the terms and conditions of the leave, including whether or not the leave is to be with pay.
