Duration of Reemployment List. Names of persons laid off shall be carried on a reemployment list for twenty-four months, except that persons appointed to regular positions of the same classification and status as that from which laid off shall, upon such appointment, be dropped from the list. Persons reemployed in a lower classification or on a temporary or part-time basis shall be continued on the list for the higher regular position. Any person rejecting an offer of employment to a regular position of the same classification and status shall be dropped from the list. Any person who does not respond within ten business days to a letter offering such employment shall be dropped from the list.

Duration of Reemployment List. Names of persons laid off shall be carried on a reemployment list for 1 year, except that persons appointed to permanent positions of the same level as that from which they were laid off shall, upon such appointment, be dropped from the list. Persons reemployed in a lower class, or on a temporary basis, shall be continued on the list for the higher position for 1 year. A person appointed from a reemployment list must serve a new probationary period if recall from such list occurs more than 90 calendar days after the effective date of layoff. The new probationary period in such circumstances shall be 6 months, unless otherwise provided by POST guidelines.

  • Probation for Newly Hired Employees (a) The Employer may reject a probationary employee for just cause. A rejection during probation shall not be considered a dismissal for the purpose of Article 11.2
