Early Learning. Voluntary tutoring services may occur in addition to the workday if the participating educator is compensated at the Tutoring Hourly Assignment rate of pay for ECSE and the Hourly Assignment rate of pay for ECE. District tutoring funds distributed during Phase 1 may continue to fund the cost of the Tutoring Hourly Assignment rate of pay (and Hourly Assignment rate of pay for ECE) for educators conducting tutoring in addition to their workday, upon prior approval by the appropriate administrator. Such requests shall not be unreasonably denied.
Early Learning. All ESDs will participate and partner with OSPI in working with schools on activities that include: Increasing understanding and reliability of WaKIDS to inform instruction in kindergarten, communicate children’s strengths with families, and share information with early learning providers. Increasing the number of school districts that are actively engaging early learning providers in discussions regarding how they collaboratively can help children be ready for kindergarten, access integrated and inclusive preschool services, improve alignment, and create smoother transitions into the preK–12+ system. Expanding programs that engage the parents and families of pre‐kindergarten children in activities designed to assist their children to be ready for kindergarten. Collaborating with Early Learning and WaKIDS Coordinators at the ESD and OSPI to communicate and support early learning goals. ESD leads will include early learning staff in school improvement planning for the region. Interfacing with early learning staff both at ESD and OSPI to communicate about and support local plans for preschool expansion. ESD Leads will serve as advocates for preschool expansion.
Early Learning. For Education Assistants who work 12 hours or more per week and are normally scheduled to work on the day of and the week of the recognized holidays will be paid the regular number of hours they are normally scheduled to work that day. The holidays include Labor Day, Fall Professional Conference (usually the third Friday in October), Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Day, Presidents’ Day, the Monday after Easter, and Memorial Day.

Early Learning. Full day Kindergarten will be offered in all of the District’s schools in the coming year. To support school readiness, both Ready, Set, Learn and StrongStart Programs have been set up to be either in First Nations communities or within their catchment areas.
