Eight (8) Hour Shift. The normal hours of work for employees working a eight (8) hour shift schedule shall be comprised of seven and one-half (7 1/2) hour shifts using seventy-five (75) hours bi-weekly as the base hours distributed over a work schedule as determined by the employer exclusive of a thirty (30) minute meal break but including a rest period of fifteen (15) consecutive minutes in the first half and second half of the shift.

Eight (8) Hour Shift a) There shall be a regular work week as hereinafter provided for the purpose of calculating overtime. The regular work week shall commence at 11:30 pm on Sunday night and end at 11:30 pm the following Sunday night. A forty (40) hour week, Monday to Friday inclusive, is in effect at the Surrey Plant. None of the provisions of this Article shall be interpreted as guaranteeing a minimum of forty (40) hours per calendar week. The schedule of hours shall be maintained until further notice is given by the Company to the Union and posted on the bulletin board. b) Shifts - The normal starting and stopping time of shifts shall be as in Appendix "B". By mutual agreement between the Company and the Union, these regular starting and stopping times may be changed. c) In the event the Company wishes to alter the shift schedule of an operation in accordance with the shift schedules noted in Appendix "B", it may do so provided it first meets with and discusses such proposed changes with the Union. d) It is understood and agreed that where necessary the Company will stagger the lunch period to permit the uninterrupted operation of production machines.

  • Hour Shift An eight (8) hour tour shall be inclusive of an unpaid one-half (1/2) hour meal period, and two fifteen (15) minute paid relief periods.

  • Hour Shifts When the Employer deems it necessary to implement a twelve (12) hour work day, affected employees shall be notified pursuant to Clause 14.05. The following Clauses shall be replaced or added to the Collective Agreement where appropriate.

  • Night Shift Employees who are required to work at least five-eighths of their normal daily tour of duty after 4:30 p.m. and before 8:00 a.m. shall be paid at the rate of five percent over and above his/her normal biweekly or hourly rate of pay for the entire shift so worked.

  • Afternoon Shift (i) Afternoon Shift is any shift where the normal ceasing time is later than 6.00 p.m. but not later than midnight. (ii) The additional loading for ordinary hours only shall be twenty-five percent (25%) of the all purpose rate applying to the Employees' classification.

  • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.

  • Work Week The work week will begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 11:59 p.m. the following Saturday.

  • Holiday Falling on a Scheduled Workday An Employee who works on a designated holiday which is a scheduled workday shall be compensated at the rate of double time for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday; except for Christmas and New Year's when the compensation shall be at the rate of double time and one-half (2½) for hours worked, plus a day off subject to this Agreement.

  • Workweek A regularly re-occurring period of one hundred and sixty-eight (168) hours consisting of seven (7) consecutive twenty-four (24) hour periods. Workweeks will normally begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 12:00 midnight the following Saturday or as otherwise designated by the appointing authority. If there is a change in their workweek, employees will be given written notification by the appointing authority or their designee.

  • Standard Work Week The standard work week for full-time employees covered by this Agreement shall be forty (40) hours, exclusive of the time allotted for meal periods, consisting of five (5) consecutive work days followed by two (2) consecutive days off. The week shall commence with the shift that includes 12:01 A.M. Sunday of each calendar week and end at the start of the shift that includes 12:00 midnight the following Saturday. The Employer retains the right to modify the work schedules to meet operational needs.

  • Workday and Workweek The regular workweek of a full-time employee in the bargaining unit shall be forty (40) hours and shall consist of five (5) consecutive days of eight (8) hours per day.
