Employee Attendance at Staff Meetings. (a) Where an employee is directed by the Employer to attend a staff meeting during his/her regular working hours, the employee shall be compensated at his/her regular hourly rate for the time spent in such attendance. (b) An employee who is directed to attend a staff meeting is not entitled to claim overtime pay for such attendance, unless the time spent in the meeting results in the employee working more than eight (8) hours in a day, or more than forty (40) hours in a week. (c) Where the attendance of an employee at a staff meeting is voluntary, in response to an invitation and not a direction of the Employer, the Employer is not obligated to compensate the employee for the time spent in such attendance. (d) Where an employee is directed by the Employer to attend a staff meeting during his/her regular days off, the employee shall be compensated at his/her regular hourly rate for the time spent in such meeting.
