Employee Attendance at Staff Meetings. (a) Where an employee is directed by the Employer to attend a staff meeting during their regular working hours, the employee shall be compensated at their regular hourly rate for the time spent in such attendance. (b) An employee who is directed to attend a staff meeting is not entitled to claim overtime pay for such attendance, unless the time spent in the meeting results in the employee working more than a regularly scheduled shift of eight or 10 hours in a day; or more than 40 hours in a week. (c) Where the attendance of an employee at a staff meeting is voluntary, in response to an invitation and not a direction of the Employer, the Employer is not obligated to compensate the employee for the time spent in such attendance.
