Common use of Employee Attendance at Staff Meetings Clause in Contracts

Employee Attendance at Staff Meetings. (a) Where an employee is directed by the Employer to attend a staff meeting during their regular working hours, the employee shall be compensated at their regular hourly rate for the time spent in such attendance. (b) An employee who is directed to attend a staff meeting which results in overtime shall be paid the applicable rate for overtime incurred. (c) Where the attendance of an employee at a staff meeting is voluntary, in response to an invitation and not a direction of the Employer, the Employer is not obligated to compensate the employee for the time spent in such attendance.
