EMPLOYMENT OF SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS. A. It is the policy of the Board of Education to employ a substitute teacher whenever a teacher must be absent for a half-day or longer. Such substitutes will normally be persons competent in the area(s) for which the regular teacher is responsible. To provide for situations when persons with the appropriate competencies are unobtainable, arrangements will be made in advance to enable other substitutes to supervise the classes.

EMPLOYMENT OF SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS. A. The Board recognizes its responsibility to procure the services of substitute teachers in order to prevent the impermissible abatement of the operation of the schools as a result of the absence of regular personnel.
EMPLOYMENT OF SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS. All attempts shall be made to employ a substitute teacher so that a teacher’s assistant shall not be left alone with students in the classroom for one-half (½) of the school day or longer. If the District is unable to find a substitute to cover the classroom for more than one-half (½) of the school day, the teaching assistant will receive the substitute pay that is listed in Section 13.10.B.

  • Substitute Teachers In lieu of salary under the Basic Salary Schedule, the District shall pay to teachers employed on the basis of the teacher being available for service if and when called upon by the District, and known as Substitute Teachers, an allowance of $217.04 per day of teaching effective September 1, 2011. Half days will be paid at 50 per cent of the full day allowance.

  • Long-Term Substitute Teachers Long-term substitute teachers who teach continuously for more than thirty (30) days on the same assignment (replacing one individual teacher) shall be paid according to their appropriate lane and step on the Teacher’s Salary Schedule. The maximum experience credit shall be based on the guidelines set forth in Article VIII, Section 1, Subd. 1. This provision is not retroactive.

  • EMPLOYMENT OF RETIRED TEACHERS A. For purposes of salary schedule placement, a retired Teacher will be granted a maximum of ten (10) years’ service credit and their educational attainment. A retired Teacher may not advance beyond Level 10 on the salary schedule.

  • Termination for Catastrophe In event of Catastrophic Damage, this contract may be modified un- der B8.32, following rate redetermination under B3.32, or terminated under this Subsection. Such termination shall not be considered a termination under B8.34.

  • Employment of Relatives The School and its employees shall comply with state law prohibiting the employment of relatives which prohibits the appointment, employment, promotion, or advancement, or the advocacy for appointment, employment, promotion, or advancement in or to a position in the charter school in which the personnel are serving or over which the personnel exercises jurisdiction or control of an individual who is a relative.

  • COMMUTE TRIP REDUCTION AND PARKING 24.1 The Employer will continue to encourage but not require employees to use alternate means of transportation to commute to and from work consistent with the Commute Trip Reduction (CTR) law and the needs of the Employer and the community.

  • Commencement of Services The Consultant shall begin carrying out the Services from the Effective Date or from such other Date specified in the SC.

  • Substitute Teaching An adjunct faculty member who is interested in a substitute teaching assignment may be assigned to teach as a substitute in a course section for which the adjunct faculty member is qualified to teach. Each semester an adjunct faculty member may submit to the appropriate Xxxx a written request, on a form provided by the College, which shall indicate his/her willingness and availability to act as a substitute teacher and a reliable means by which to contact the adjunct faculty member on short notice. An adjunct faculty member who is selected to substitute teach shall be paid in accordance with Article 8.4.

  • Employment of Consultants Part A General Consultants’ services shall be procured in accordance with the provisions of the Introduction and Section IV of the “Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers” published by the Bank in January 1997 and revised in September 1997 and January 1999 (the Consultant Guidelines) and the following provisions of Section II of this Schedule.   • Actions upon Termination In the event of termination not the fault of the Contractor, the Contractor shall be paid for the services properly performed prior to termination, together with any reimbursable expenses then due, but in no event shall such compensation exceed the maximum compensation to be paid under the Contract. The Contractor agrees that this payment shall fully and adequately compensate the Contractor and all subcontractors for all profits, costs, expenses, losses, liabilities, damages, taxes, and charges of any kind whatsoever (whether foreseen or unforeseen) attributable to the termination of this Contract. Upon termination for any reason, the Contractor shall provide Seattle with the most current design documents, contract documents, writings and other product it has completed to the date of termination, along with copies of all project-related correspondence and similar items. Seattle shall have the same rights to use these materials as if termination had not occurred.
