Common use of Engagement of Employees Clause in Contracts

Engagement of Employees. 4.1.1 All prospective Employees may be required to submit an Application for Employment (if required) prior to engagement. Applicants may also be required to undertake a pre-employment physical/medical assessment, and psychological assessment, the cost of which will be borne by the Employer. Any Employee who knowingly provides false information in their application or in the self assessment medical may be dismissed. 4.1.2 All Employees will initially be engaged on probation for a period of 3 months. If the level of performance is in question, the Employer may extend the probationary period for a further 3 months before confirming a permanent appointment. 4.1.3 While an Employee is on probation, either the Employee or the Employer may terminate the employment relationship for any reason (not limited to matters specified in this Agreement) by giving 2 weeks notice or payment in lieu, unless the termination is for misconduct that justifies summary dismissal.
