ENHANCED SICK LEAVE. A bargaining unit member who tenders an irrevocable letter of resignation and retirement to the Panhandle Board of Education, a Teacher Retirement System (TRS) Retirement program on a date certain shall be eligible for a one-time sick-leave enhancement incentive granted exactly five years prior to retirement. In exchange for receipt of a qualifying letter of resignation and retirement, the employer shall tender a one-time enhancement of the employee’s accumulated sick leave to exactly three hundred forty (340) days.   • Advanced Sick Leave a. Employees who are incapacitated for the performance of duties because of serious disability or ailment may request advance sick leave not to exceed two hundred and forty (240) hours. These two hundred and forty (240) hours of sick leave may be advanced to an employee with a medical emergency related to the adoption of a child, for family care or bereavement purposes, or to care for a family member with a serious health condition.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Accumulated Sick Leave ‌ The Employer shall inform all employees at least once each year of the number of sick days accumulated and shall make the information available to an employee on request.

  • Accrued Sick Leave The Board shall provide all employees with a cumulative record 23 of accrued sick leave hours on each pay statement.

  • Benefits on Sick Leave Effective for absences beginning on or after April 1, 2000, the Hospital will pay the employer portion of the benefit premiums while an employee is on sick leave, including the EI period prior to the commencement of long term disability and LTD, to a maximum of 30 months from the date the absence began.

  • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

  • Unpaid Sick Leave The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use Family Sick Leave for the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family who requires the care and assistance of the employee. Up to eighty (80) hours per calendar year of the employee’s accumulated unused sick leave may be used for this purpose.

  • Pregnancy Sick Leave Leave for illness of a Nurse arising out of or associated with a Nurse’s pregnancy prior to the commencement of, or the ending of, pregnancy leave granted in accordance with Article 13.00, may be granted sick leave in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement.

  • Sick Leave Pool a. The Sick Leave Pool is intended to provide security to supplement other insurance benefits by allowing employees to "buy" insurance for extended illness, or other disability. Pool Days may be used to "make an employee whole" if disability or Workers' Compensation benefits are less than normal base pay. When "buying" Pool Days, employees convert Earned Time days on a 1:3 basis. Similar to purchasing insurance, the employee may pick a given number of days to exchange for coverage in case of extended disability.
