Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Sample Clauses
Environmentally Preferable Purchasing. The Contractor shall ensure that products purchased or leased by the Contractor or any Subcontractor for the Work that are not specified by the City or are submitted as equivalents to a product specified by the City comply with the requirements of the New York City Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Program contained in Chapter 11 of Title 43 of the RCNY, pursuant to Chapter 3 of Title 6 of the Administrative Code.
Environmentally Preferable Purchasing i. Contractor shall provide training regarding the environmentally preferable products, as defined in the State’s Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Policy, that are purchased or made available under this Participating Addendum. This training shall be provided at no additional cost, unless otherwise agreed upon by the Parties, and shall be presented at a time and in a manner as agreed upon by the Parties.
ii. The State reserves the right to request additional provisions and requirements to ensure this Participating Addendum is in compliance with all State regulations and policies, including all sustainable purchasing and environmentally preferable purchasing policies or executive orders. This HIPAA Business Associate Agreement (“Agreement”) between the State and Contractor is agreed to in connection with, and as an exhibit to, the Contract. For purposes of this Agreement, the State is referred to as “Covered Entity” and the Contractor is referred to as “Business Associate”. Unless the context clearly requires a distinction between the Contract and this Agreement, all references to “Contract” shall include this Agreement.
Environmentally Preferable Purchasing. Grantee shall comply with the Grantor's Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Policy of instituting practices that reduce waste and purchasing products that include recycled content, are durable and long-lasting, conserve energy and water, and otherwise minimize environmental impacts, toxics, pollution and hazards to worker and community safety to the greatest extent practicable. At a minimum, this shall include all of the following for services and products purchased and used on behalf of the Grantor:
a. All products for which the U.S. Environmental Protection Grantor (EPA) has established minimum recycled content standard guidelines (such as paper and non-paper office products) shall contain the highest postconsumer content practicable, but no less than the minimum recycled content standards established by the U.S. EPA Guidelines.
b. Paper products that are unbleached or that are processed without chlorine or chlorine derivatives, shall be purchased whenever possible. To the greatest extent practicable, recycled content shall be included in products that also meet this specification.
c. All photocopying and printing shall be double-sided.
d. All pre-printed recycled content materials intended for distribution that are purchased or produced shall include a statement that the material is recycled content.
e. Elimination of packaging or use of the minimum amount necessary for product protection is requested, to the greatest extent practicable. Packaging that is reusable, recyclable or compostable is preferred, when suitable uses and programs exist. Take back and reuse of packaging materials by the Grantee is encouraged. Upon request, Grantee shall submit to the Grantor written certification documenting that the requirements above have been satisfied. A copy of the Grantor’s Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Policy may be obtained from the Grantor representative.

This policy will be carried out consistent with the City's obligations and purpose, and with an overall intent to obtain competitive prices to provide value to the taxpayers. Vendors are encouraged to submit items in their bids that meet the City's Environmentally Preferable Purchasing ("EPP") program standards. When submitting EPP items for consideration, vendors must submit documentation that substantiates their claims. When evaluating submissions where two products are of equal fitness and quality, and the price of the EPP product is equal to or less than that of a non-EPP content product, the City will purchase the EPP product.

This Exhibit regarding Information Technology Provisions (the “Exhibit”) is an essential part of the agreement between the State and Contractor as described in the Contract to which this Exhibit is attached. Unless the context clearly requires a distinction between the Contract and this Exhibit, all references to “Contract” shall include this Exhibit.

Environmentally Preferable Purchasing. 1952 Contractor shall, prior to the Commencement Date, develop and implement an “Environmentally 1953 Preferable Purchasing Policy.” The policy shall be subject to review, request for modification, and approval 1954 by the City Franchise Contract Administrator. The policy shall, at a minimum, include provisions for: (1) 1955 purchasing materials with the highest available Recycled content without materially degrading the 1956 performance of the product; (2) purchasing materials that utilize non-toxic, non-polluting alternative
Environmentally Preferable Purchasing. The City of Santa Clarita, being fully aware of the limited nature of our resources and the leadership role government agencies have, supports the Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP) program with Resolution 05-103. With changes in technology and industries occurring rapidly it is frequently difficult to be aware of the latest innovations. Therefore, it is the intent of the City of Santa Clarita to seek out those products which result in less energy usage, least impact on natural resources and greatest reuse of post-industrial and post-consumer material. Vendors are strongly encouraged to offer products and services meeting these criteria and point out those specific aspects or features in their bid. In accordance with Public Contract Code 22152 vendors are required to certify in writing the minimum, if not exact, percentage of postconsumer materials in the products, materials, goods, or supplies, offered or sold.
