AND PURPOSE. Section 4. The parties acknowledge that during the negotiations which resulted in this Agreement, each had the unlimited right and opportunity to make demands and proposals with respect to any subject or matter not removed by law from the area of collective bargaining, and that the understandings and agreements arrived at by the parties after the exercise of that right and opportunity are set forth in this Agreement. Therefore, the Employer and the Union, for the duration of this Agreement, each voluntarily and unqualifiedly waives the right, and each agrees that the other shall not be obligated to bargain collectively with respect to any subject or matter referred to, or covered in this Agreement, or with respect to any subject or matter not specifically referred to, or covered in this Agreement.
AND PURPOSE. This Collective Agreement is entered into by the parties hereto in order to provide for orderly collective bargaining relations between the Halton District School Board (hereinafter referred to as the Board) and its employees represented by the Ontario Secondary Teachers' Federation District Office, Clerical, Technical Bargaining Unit (hereinafter referred to as the Bargaining Unit). There shall be no effort by either signatory to misinterpret, read into or delete from any of the provisions of this Agreement. THEREFORE, THIS AGREEMENT between the Union and the Company, signed by the accredited officials of both parties, has been mutually agreed upon and the terms as laid out shall be carried out in letter and spirit by both parties. For the purpose of improving such relations and reaching mutual understandings as to the proper aims and objectives of each other, the joint labour-management committee shall be established within sixty days after the implementation of this Collective Agreement, consisting of representatives of the Company and the Union. This committee shall meet once every three months and consider such matters and shall be mutually agreed upon, except that such committee shall not consider any matter which properly should be considered under the Grievance Procedure.

The general purpose of this agreement is to establish and maintain collective bargaining relations between the Company and its employees, and to provide for the prompt disposition of grievances arising out of this agreement, and to establish and maintain mutually satisfactory working conditions, hours of work, wages, and all other conditions of employment for all employees who are subject to the provisions of this Agreement. All references in this Agreement to the male gender shall be interpreted so as to include, where appropriate the female gender.
