Family Influence. Family, who are frequently the first adults a child interacts with, have a big impact on a child's personality. Children from households with strong social ties are less likely to deviate from the norm. The degree of parental supervision, the manner in which parents discipline their children, particularly harsh punishments, parental conflict or separation, criminal parents or siblings, parental abuse or neglect, and the caliber of the parents are some family factors that can affect juvenile delinquency (Juvenile Delinquency, Its Causes and Justice System In Bangladesh: A Critical Analysis, 2019). Family Influence. The family has an important role in the formation of attitude and behavior. The family is the closest environment because students interact more intensively than other environments. Some studies reveal that students attitudes toward speaking English have a strong relationship with their parents.
Family Influence. Content. The nuclear family provides the context, resources and support for adolescent goal pursuit. Some studies report large similarities between the (life) goals of parents and adolescents (Xxxxxxx et al., 2000; Xxxxx et al., 2007; Xxxxxx et al., 1995; Xxxxxxxxx et al., 2002), while other studies report little similarity (Xxxxxxxx et al., 2005). For example, one study showed that approximately 30% of parent-adolescent dyads did not share a single hope (Xxxx et al., 2001). In general, there is considerable evidence that high parental aspirations for their children translate into high adolescent aspirations (Xxxxxxx et al., 2001; Xxxxxx et al., 2004; Xxxx et al., 2001; Xxxxxxxxxxxx, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2003b, 2003c; Xxxxxx & Xxxxxxx, 2002; Xxxxxx & Xxxxxx, 1992). Moreover, high parental aspirations for their children have also been found to strengthen the relationship between adolescents’ aspirations and their educational achievements (Xxxxxxxxxxxx, 2003c). In addition to this, parental beliefs regarding probability of their child achieving their goals have been shown to be related to adolescent goal endorsement (Xxxxxxxx et al., 2005). The relationship between parents and youths, as indicated by support and demands (Xxxxxxxxxxxx, 1991, 1994b; Xxxxxxx & Xxxxxxxx, 2002), closeness (Xxxxx & Xxxxx, 2001), involvement in learning (Xxxxxxxxxxxx, 1994c), and encouragement and interest (Xxxxxxxxxxxx, 2003b) has been related to greater adolescent (educational and occupational) goal endorsement. Family support is suggested to xxxxxx perceived opportunities and expectations and thus indirectly influence educational and career aspirations (Wall et al., 1999). Some studies suggest greater importance of maternal support compared to that of the father (Xxxxxxxxxxxx, 1993) and greater identification with the mother has been shown to be related to higher educational goals (Xxxx et al., 2001). Children of mothers who encourage independence appear to score higher on goals such as leadership and independence (Xxxxxxx et al., 2000). In contrast, low parental autonomy support and low maternal nurturance have been related to greater financial and extrinsic goal endorsement (Xxxxxx et al., 1995; Xxxxxxxx et al., 2000).   • Family Illness The start of a family leave for a serious health condition of a family member shall begin on the date requested by the employee or designated by Management.

  • Family Violence Leave Family Violence Leave as provided for by the Holidays Act 2003 is in addition to other leave allowances within the collective agreement.

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use Family Sick Leave for the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family who requires the care and assistance of the employee. Up to eighty (80) hours per calendar year of the employee’s accumulated unused sick leave may be used for this purpose.

  • Family Leave 1. An Appointing Authority shall grant to a full time or part time employee who has completed his/her probationary period, or if there is no such probationary period, has been employed for at least three consecutive months, an unpaid leave of absence for up to twenty-six (26) weeks in conjunction with the birth, adoption or placement of a child as long as the leave concludes within twelve (12) months following the birth or placement. The ability to take leave ceases when a xxxxxx placement ceases unless the need for additional leave is directly connected to the previous placement.

  • Illness in Immediate Family 1. Up to three (3) days of sick leave may be used by a teacher for each serious illness of a member of that teacher's immediate family or birth of a child of a teacher.   • Death in Immediate Family A regularly scheduled employee may be granted up to five days of leave of absence with pay by the Agency/Department Head because of death in the immediate family. For purposes of this subsection, "immediate family" means mother, stepmother, father, stepfather, husband, wife, domestic partner (upon submission of an affidavit as defined in the appendices), son, stepson, daughter, stepdaughter, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, xxxxxx parent, xxxxxx child, mother-in-law, and father-in-law, or any other person sharing the relationship of in loco parentis; and, when living in the household of the employee, a brother-in-law, sister-in-law.   • Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave a) Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness leaves granted to a permanent Teacher or long-term Occasional Teacher under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, as amended.
