Family Medical Leave (FMLA. Employees who qualify according to the provisions of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) will maintain their current level of health insurance coverage, under the same terms as if they were actively working, for the length of the leave (up to 60 work days) and will have his/her position held until the employee returns from leave. Earned sick days must be used, followed by earned vacation days, and then earned personal business days, before any part of the leave is unpaid. If disability benefits will be used during the leave, the use of earned sick, vacation, and personal business days will end once the elimination period for short and/or long term disability insurance benefits has been satisfied.
