Union Shop. All employees who are covered by the Union's Certificate of Bargaining Authority shall maintain membership in the Union as a condition of employment. Employees who are brought within the jurisdiction of the Union's Certificate of Bargaining Authority, including newly hired employees, shall become members of the Union by the first day of the third bi-weekly pay period after their initial date of employment in the bargaining unit. Upon receipt by the Employer of written advice from the Union, employees who fail to maintain membership in the Union or the check-off of Union Dues, or an amount equal to Union Dues, shall be terminated by the Employer from their employment. Where the Employer has knowledge of an employee failing to maintain Union membership, or the check-off of Union Dues, the Employer shall so advise the Union and, in turn, the Union shall advise the employee in writing. When the Employer is advised by the Union of non-compliance of either of the above, the Employer shall terminate the services of the employee within thirty (30) days of written advice as noted above. In the event an employee is terminated pursuant to this section, the following contract provisions shall not be applicable to the employee:

Union Shop. All employees in the employment of the Company shall, as a condition of continued employment, maintain membership in good standing in the Union. New employees shall, as a condition of continued employment, become members of the Union thirty (30) days after becoming employed by the Company.
Union Shop. ‌ Employees covered by the Union’s Certificate of Bargaining Authority who were employed by the Employer and were not members of the Union prior to January 1, 1974 shall have the option of: (a) applying for membership in the Union which membership they shall maintain, or (b) not applying for membership in the Union, but as a condition of employment, shall authorize the deduction from their pay cheques of an amount equal to Union Dues and Assessments, and shall be deemed to have made an irrevocable assignment under Article 5.
Union Shop. All present employees who are members of the Local Union on the effective date of this subsection or on the date of execution of this Agreement, whichever is the later, shall remain members of the Local Union as a condition of employment. Union membership for purposes of this Agreement, is required only to the extent that employees must pay either (i) the Union’s initiation fees and periodic dues or (ii) service fees which in the case of a regular service fee payer shall be equal to the Union’s initiation fees and periodic dues, and in the case of an objecting service fee payer shall be the proportion of the initiation fees and dues corresponding to the portion of the Union’s total expenditures that support representational activities. All present employees who are not members of the Local Union and all employees who are hired hereafter shall become and remain members of the Local Union as a condition of employment on and after the thirty-first (31st) calendar day following the beginning of their employment or on and after the thirty-first (31st) calendar day following the effective date of this subsection or the date of this Agreement, whichever is the later. An employee who has failed to acquire, or thereafter maintain, membership in the Union as herein provided, shall be terminated seventy-two (72) hours after his/her Employer has received written notice from an authorized representative of the Local Union, certifying that membership has been, and is continuing to be, offered to such employee on the same basis as all other members and, further, that the employee has had notice and opportunity to make all dues or initiation fee payments. This provision shall be made and become effective as of such time as it may be made and become effective under the provisions of the National Labor Relations Act, but not retroactively. For purposes of this Article, “present employees” and “employees who are hired hereafter” shall include probationary, “casual” and/or “part- time” employees. Such “casual” or “part-time” employees will be required to join the Union prior to their employment on or after the thirty-first (31st) calendar day following their first (1st) day of employment.
Union Shop. All employees shall, as a condition of employment, become members of the Union not later than the thirty-first (31st) day of their employment or the thirty-first (31st) day following the date of signature or the effective date of this Agreement, whichever is later, and shall remain members in good standing as a condition of continued employment.

The Union shall bear the expense of printing and mailing the letter. 7.03 The Employer agrees to provide the Union, once a month, with a list containing the names of all employees who have left the employ of the Employer during the previous month.

Union Shop. All new Employees shall, within thirty (30) calendar days after the execution of this Agreement, or thirty (30) calendar days after entering employment, whichever date last occurs, become members of the Union, and maintain membership therein throughout the term of this Agreement, as a condition of continued employment.
Union Shop. (a) With respect to employees other than pharmacists, the Employer agrees to retain in his employ, within the bargaining unit as outlined in Section 1 of this Agreement, only members of the Union in good standing. The Employer shall be free to hire new employees who are not members of the Union, provided said nonmembers, whether part- or full-time employees, shall be eligible for membership in the Union and shall make application within ten (10) days after employment and become members within thirty (30) days. Store Administrators will present membership cards to new employees for signature. (b) With respect to pharmacists, it shall be optional for the pharmacist to become a member of the Union. Once having chosen to become a member of the Union such pharmacist shall be required to remain a member of the Union as a condition of employment. In the event the pharmacist declines to become a member of the Union he shall: (i) pay regular dues through checkoff as if he were a member of the Union; (ii) be entitled to all benefits of this Collective Agreement as if he were a member of the Union; (iii) not be subject to discipline or discharge by reason either of his becoming a member of the Union or failure to become a member of the Union. The Employer agrees to provide each new employee at the time of employment with a form letter outlining to the employee his or her responsibility in regard to Union membership and outlining the provisions of Section 6 (d) of this Agreement, and to provide the Union in writing with the name and address of each employee to whom they have presented the form letter, along with the employee's date of hire. The Union shall bear the expense of printing the letter, the contents of the letter to be such that it is acceptable to the Employer. The Employer further agrees to provide the Union once a month with a list containing the names of all employees who have terminated their employment during the previous month.
Union Shop. It shall be a condition of employment that all employees of the Employer covered by this agreement who are members of the Union in good stand­ ing on the date on which this agreement is signed shall remain members in good stand­ ing and those who are not members on the date which this agreement is signed shall, on the thirty-first day following the date on which this agreement is signed, become and remain members in good standing in the Union. It shall also be a condition of employ­ ment that all employees covered by this agreement and hired on or after the date on which this agreement is signed, shall, on the thirty-first day following the beginning of such employment become and remain mem­ bers in good standing in the Union.
