Family Related Leave. ‌ 27:01 Employees requesting Family Leave shall contact their immediate supervisor and inform them of the reason for leave as soon as possible prior to the first day of the leave being requested. The immediate supervisor will contact the Executive Director or designate to determine if the employee has the time required in their accumulated sick leave bank and who may, if available, grant the leave up to a maximum of six (6) days per fiscal year. 27:02 The leave shall be for the purpose of attending to family responsibilities which are real, immediate and unavoidable and which necessitate the employee’s absence from work. (a) The family responsibilities of the employee could not reasonably be accommodated by some other person or in some other way or at some other time. Upon returning to work, the employee must submit a written notification of leave and may be required to provide medical proof supporting the claim. All leave granted is at the discretion of the Employer.
