Family Sick Leave. 1. In case of serious illness in the immediate family, a teacher may use personal sick days for family members; the days used will be deducted from cumulative sick leave. 2. Immediate family is interpreted for this purpose as follows: parent, sibling, spouse, grandparent, grandchild, child, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in- law, or an individual who is a resident of the teacher’s household.
