For Union Dues. (a) Upon request, the Employer agrees to deduct from the salaries of those of its employees who authorize it, Union membership dues. Authorization must be in writing and comply with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 53:14-15.9e of the Statutes of New Jersey. Deductions shall be made in compliance with law each pay period, and monies collected, together with records of any corrections, shall be transmitted to the treasurer of the Union by the first of each month following collection. (b) If, during the life of this Agreement, there shall be any change in the rate of membership dues, the Union shall furnish to the Employer written notice prior to the effective date of such change, and shall furnish to the Employer a certified copy of the Resolution, indicating dues changes and the effective date of such changes. (c) The Union will provide the necessary dues deduction forms and will secure the signatures of its members on the forms, and deliver the signed forms to the Employer or his designee. The Union shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless Xxxxxx County against any and all claims, demands, suits or other forms of liability that shall arise out of, or by reason of the action taken by the Employer in reliance upon salary deduction authorization cards submitted by the Union.

  • Union Dues 2.1.5.1 The Employer shall deduct from the monthly wages or salary of each Employee in the Bargaining Unit, whether or not the Employee is a member of the Union, the amount of the regular monthly dues payable to the Union by a member of the Union, and shall require as a condition of employment that each Employee make and maintain whatever authorization is required for this deduction. 2.1.5.2 The Employer shall deduct from any Employee who is a member of the Union any assessments levied in accordance with the Union Constitution and/or By-Laws owing by the Employee to the Union each month and membership dues or payments in lieu thereof shall be considered as owing in the month for which they are deducted. 2.1.5.3 All deductions shall be remitted to the agent appointed by the Union not later than ten (10) days after the date of deduction. The amount so advised shall continue to be the amount of its regular monthly dues and shall continue to be the amount to be deducted until changed by further written notice to the Employer signed by the President or Executive Director of the Union. Upon receipt of such notice, such changed amount shall be the amount deducted. 2.1.5.5 From the date of signing of this Agreement and for its duration, no Employee organization other than the Union shall be permitted to have membership dues or other monies deducted by the Employer from the pay of the Employees in the Bargaining Unit. 2.1.5.6 The Employer shall supply each Employee, without charge, a receipt for income tax purposes in the amount of the deductions paid to the Union by the Employee in the previous year. Such receipts shall be provided to the Employee prior to March 1 of the succeeding year.

  • CHECK-OFF OF UNION DUES 22.01 The Company shall deduct on the payroll for the last applicable pay period of each month from wages due and owing to each Employee under this Agreement such sum as may be uniformly assessed under the Union Constitution for monthly dues and initiation fees. 22.02 The amount to be deducted shall not be changed except to conform with a change in the Union's Constitution. 22.03 Membership in the Union shall be available to any Employee eligible under the Constitution of the Union on payment of the initiation or reinstatement fees uniformly required of all other such applicants. Membership shall not be denied for reasons of race, national origin, colour or religion. 22.04 Deductions shall commence on the payroll for the last applicable pay period of the first full calendar month of service. 22.05 If the wages of an Employee payable on the payroll for the last applicable pay period of any month are insufficient to permit the deduction of the full amount of dues, no such deduction shall be made from the wages of such Employee by the Company in such month. The Company shall not, because the Employee did not have sufficient wages payable to him on the designated payroll, carry forward and deduct from any subsequent wages the dues not deducted in an earlier month. 22.06 Only payroll deductions now or hereafter required by law, deductions of monies due or owing the Company, pension deductions and deduction for provident funds shall be made from wages prior to the deduction of dues. 22.07 The amount of dues so deducted from wages accompanied by a statement of monthly dues check-off list including additions, deductions, employee's name and number and location shall be remitted by the Company to the Union. 22.08 The Company shall not be responsible financially or otherwise, either to the Union or to any Employee, for any failure to make deductions or for making improper or inaccurate deductions or remittances; however, in any instance in which an error occurs in the amount of any deduction of dues from an Employee's wages, the Company shall adjust it directly with the Employee. In the event of any mistake by the Company in the amount of its remittance to the Union, the Company shall adjust the amount in a subsequent remittance. The Company's liability for any and all amounts deducted pursuant to the provisions of this Article shall terminate at the time it remits the amounts payable to the Union. 22.09 In the event of any action at law against the parties hereto resulting from any deduction or deductions made from payrolls, or to be made by the Company pursuant to the first paragraph of this Article, both parties shall cooperate fully in the defence of such action. Each party shall bear its own cost of such defence except that if, at the request of the Union, counsel fees are incurred these shall be borne by the Union. Save as aforesaid, the Union shall indemnify and save harmless the Company from any losses, damages, costs, liabilities or expenses suffered or sustained by the Company as a result of any such deduction or deductions from payrolls.

  • DEDUCTION OF UNION DUES 29.1 The Company shall deduct on the payroll for the pay period which contains the 24th day of the month from wages due and payable to each employee subject to the terms of this agreement an amount equivalent to the uniform, monthly dues of the Union, subject to the conditions and exceptions set forth in this Article. 29.2 The amount to be deducted shall be equivalent to the uniform, regular dues payment of the Union and shall not include initiation fees or special assessments.   • Association Dues The District agrees to deduct Association dues from the paycheck of each employee who individually and voluntarily authorize dues deductions. If an employee elects to become a member after the Association Dues are submitted by the Association, the employee shall be responsible for paying any additional fees directly to the Association. E. The District shall provide the Association a list of all support staff covered under the collective bargaining agreement upon request of the Association, but not more than once per month.

  • Professional and Education Leaves (a) Leave of absence with pay or without pay may be granted to employees to attend professional and educational meetings, courses, or other events which may be judged beneficial to the employee's professional development, especially as it relates to her responsibilities with the Employer.
