FULL HIGHER DUTIES ALLOWANCE. An employee who is directed to perform all the duties of a higher classification will be paid an allowance equal to the difference between the employee's own salary and the salary the employee would receive if promoted to the higher classification at the base level.

  • Higher Duties Allowance (a) An employee who is appointed to perform temporarily all of the duties of a higher classified position and who performs all such duties required to be performed during the appointment will be paid an allowance equal to the difference between their substantive salary and the minimum salary of the higher classified position for all the time during which the employee performs such duties. Where it is specified at the commencement of the higher duties allowance that the employee is to undertake part of the duties of the higher position only, a lesser amount, which will normally be a percentage of the full amount, will be paid. (b) No allowance will be payable pursuant to subclause 12.1(a) unless the employee performs the duties of the higher classified position for a period in excess of one (1) week or in excess of two (2) consecutive working days for trades staff. (c) No allowance will be payable pursuant to subclause 12.1(a) to an employee whose position is designated as a “deputy” or equivalent of a more senior employee, whose normal duties as specified by their job description include deputising for that more senior employee and who is deputising while the senior employee is absent on duty or for periods of leave for up to four (4) weeks. (d) An employee who has been in receipt of a higher duties allowance for more than one (1) month will be paid such allowance for all paid leave taken during that period. (e) An employee who has been relieving continuously in a position for a period in excess of 12 months who retires, resigns or is retrenched by the University will receive payment for accrued leave entitlements at the higher rate of pay on termination of employment. (f) Where an employee in receipt of a higher duties allowance works on a public holiday, the relevant shift loading or overtime rate will be applied to the higher duties allowance for time worked on that day.

  • Higher Duties Where any Employee on any day performs two or more classes of work to which different rates of pay are applicable, the Employee shall be paid at the higher hourly rate for the day if the Employee is required to work at that class of work for two (2) hours or more, and if for less than two (2) hours during any one (1) day the Employee will be paid the higher rate for the time so worked.

  • Education Allowance Provisions in existing Collective Agreements providing for educational allowances shall be continued in effect.

  • Employee Duties The Employee agrees that they will act in accordance with this Agreement and with the best interests of the Employer in mind, which may or may not require them to present the best of their skills, experience, and talents, to perform all the duties required of the position. In carrying out the duties and responsibilities of their position, the Employee agrees to adhere to any and all policies, procedures, rules, regulations, as administered by the Employer.   • Responsibility Allowance (a) An Employee who is assigned additional responsibilities which contribute to the administration of program(s) and which comprise at least 25% of the Employee’s workload and regularly includes the supervision of and/or coordination of other Employees, shall be paid $2.00 per hour in addition to the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay. (b) The Employer reserves the exclusive right to determine the need for and to assign these responsibilities.

  • Separation Allowance If a regular full-time or regular part-time employee resigns within thirty (30) days of receiving notice of layoff, the employee shall be entitled to a separation allowance of two (2) weeks for each year of continuous service to a maximum of (26) weeks pay, and, on production of receipts from an approved educational program, within twelve (12)months of resignation, may be reimbursed for tuition fees up to a of three thousand dollars ($3,000). The displacement procedure prescribed by Article shall not operate to permit more than two displacements and the third person so displaced shall only have the right to displace another employee who has lesser bargaining unit and who is the least senior employee in all lower or identical paying classifications in the bargaining unit. This will also apply to bumping into part-time which will mean another two (2) bumps provided that the full-time employee has more seniority. The Hospital shall give each employee the bargaining unit who has actually been laid off following the completion of the bumping process, and who is to be laid off for a period of more than thirteen (13)weeks, three (3)months notice in writing of the employee’s xxx-xxxxx at the discretion of the Hospital, pay in lieu of notice. In other cases of lay-off, that exceeds two weeks, the shall give an employee in the bargaining unit acquired one weeks notice, provided however, such notice shall not be required if the lay-off occurs because of emergencies. For example: power failure, act of God, equipment breakdown, or any other conditions beyond the reasonable control of the Hospital. Article as long as there is not a laid off senior employee who is eligible for an employee who is laid off, or an employee who has displaced an employee in another position as a result of the layoff, or an employee to work in a different position than the one the employee held prior to the layoff, be entitled to to the position the employee held prior to the layoff should it become vacant within twenty-four (24) months of the layoff, provided the employee remains qualified and able to the duties of the position. Employees who have been laid off (i.e. are no longer in the Hospital) for up to (24) calendar months shall be recalled to or lower-rated classifications in the order of their seniority, provided they have the qualifications and ability to perform the available work and this not require posting. The hospital shall notify the employee of recall by registered mail, addressed to the last address on record with the hospital. The notification shall state the job to which the employee is eligible to be and the date and time at which the employee is to report for work. An employee given notice of recall by registered have three (3) days after receipt of such notice to the employee's intention, in to return to work on the date specified by the Employer or another date as mutually agreed. Any employee who does not so shall be deemed to have ceased with the Employer. The Employer be entitled to rely, for ail purposes, on the latest address of the employee contained in the records of the Employer. No new employee shall be hired in a in which a layoff has taken place employees laid off from that classification or displaced out of the classification who have been laid off or displaced for up to twenty-four (24) calendar months and are eligible for recall as prescribed in this article have been given the opportunity to to work in the classification from which the employees were laid off or displaced.

  • Reimbursement of Eligible Costs To be eligible for reimbursement, the Engineer's costs must (1) be incurred in accordance with the terms of a valid work authorization; (2) be in accordance with Attachment E, Fee Schedule; and (3) comply with cost principles set forth at 48 CFR Part 31, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR 31). Satisfactory progress of work shall be maintained as a condition of payment.

  • NON-TEACHING DUTIES The Board and the Association acknowledge that a teacher's primary responsibility is to teach, and that his/her energies should be utilized to this end.
