Responsibility Allowance. (a) An Employee who is assigned additional responsibilities which contribute to the administration of program(s) and which comprise at least 25% of the Employee’s workload and regularly includes the supervision of and/or coordination of other Employees, shall be paid $2.00 per hour in addition to the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay. (b) The Employer reserves the exclusive right to determine the need for and to assign these responsibilities.

Responsibility Allowance. An employee who is in charge of an office and whose classification specification does not provide for assigned responsibility and/or duties such as listed below will be paid an allowance of two (2) steps of his rate of pay. These responsibilities and/or duties could include or be similar to: (a) liaison between their services and other services of the government; (b) ensure an effective working relationship between employees and/or persons in the office; (c) responsibility for landlord-tenant relationship; (d) function as team leader in terms of receiving and distributing cases; (e) hiring of casual or temporary staff or supervision of support staff; (f) administrative duties, i.e. prepare monthly report, purchasing of supplies.

Responsibility Allowance. Effective April 1, 2016, a nurse who is assigned the responsibility of relieving the Director of Care, or of being Nurse-in-charge of the building on any shift where the Director of Care is not normally present, shall be paid a responsibility allowance of two dollars ($2.00) per hour in addition to her regular salary and other premiums.
Responsibility Allowance. (a) Where the Employer temporarily assigns a registered staff Nurse to carry out the assigned responsibilities of a higher classification (whether or not such classification is included in the bargaining unit) for a period of more than one full tour, at times when the incumbent in any such classification would otherwise be working, she shall be paid a premium of $10.00 per complete tour for such duty. The Employer agrees that it will not make work assignments which will violate the purpose and intent in this provision. (b) Effective October 1, 2017, where there is an absence of Nursing Management in a Home, a Nurse shall be assigned the responsibility of being “in charge” and shall receive an allowance of one dollar and eighty-five ($1.85) per complete hour of “in charge” assignment.

Should a change be required to the Charge Nurse designation, due to absence, the reassignment of Charge Nurse will be offered to the Senior Registered Nurse on duty. (iii) It is understood that when the Resident Care Coordinator is absent a Nurse shall be assigned and paid responsibility allowance in the amount of Eight Dollars and Sixty Cents ($8.60) per shift. 16.02 The Corporation will notify nurses of their annual salary and classification. In the event of the Corporation altering the classification or establishing a new classification for any nurse holding a position covered by this agreement, the Corporation will notify the Association of the proposed salary rate and classification therefor. The Department Head or Supervisor will discuss with and notify the Association and the nurse concerned of any proposed change in a nurse's job description in the event of a proposed change in job duties. 16.03 If, in the opinion of the Association, such proposed classification appears to be unfair in relation to other jobs evaluated under the Corporation's Job Evaluation Manual or when a nurse believes that she is improperly classified, the same may be treated as a grievance and dealt with as such. If the Corporation establishes a new classification for any nurse covered by this agreement, Appendix "A" hereto annexed shall be amended accordingly. 16.04 All full-time nurses with six (6) months' service shall take Group Life Insurance on the basis of two times (2X) annual salary. The Corporation will contribute One Hundred Percent (100%) of the monthly premium cost of Group Life Insurance.
