Common use of Grievance Meeting Procedure Clause in Contracts

Grievance Meeting Procedure. It is the intent of both parties that grievances shall be handled as expeditiously as practicable and within the time limits spelled out in each step of the grievance procedure. It is understood that by mutual consent expressed in writing, the time limits specified at any given step, or the time limits for taking the grievance to the second step may be extended with respect to a specific grievance. However, time limits for presentation of a grievance may not be extended. Steps may be waived by written agreement between the Company's appropriate Director or his designated representative and the International Representative of the Union. The Company shall provide the Local Representative at the first step with all information relevant to the specific circumstances and actions leading to the instant grievance.
