Half-Time Faculty. An employee designated as a “half-time” faculty member prior to May 15, 2018 is an individual who has been hired to teach or provide other services with an equivalent workload assigned and determined by Management to be twelve (12) credits in an academic year. A half-time faculty member will be notified of reappointment or non- reappointment before the end of the employee’s appointment in an academic year. Management will hire no new half-time faculty members after May 15, 2018.

Half-Time Faculty. Management will make available to half-time faculty who hold this position upon ratification of this Agreement certain benefits and the use of certain facilities at the level these benefits are offered as of the date of ratification of this Agreement. These benefits include health insurance in which Management contributes fifty percent (50%) of the cost of the individual tier of coverage; tuition remission for the half-time faculty member; dental insurance, vision insurance, voluntary accidental death & dismemberment insurance; flexible spending account; voluntary contributions to a retirement account; availability of an employee assistance program; parking; discounted or free admission to certain campus events; bookstore discounts; affiliation with a local credit union; access to the library, sports and recreation facilities, and the café and dining hall.
Half-Time Faculty. An employee who was designated as a “half-time” faculty member prior to May 15, 2018 generally will be observed at least once during the first four (4) semesters of teaching, and then at least once during every following six (6) semesters of teaching.

  • Adjunct Faculty 5.1 Adjunct faculty" shall be used in this Agreement to mean temporary faculty as defined in California Education Code Section 87482.5. This definition shall also apply to tenured/tenure-track faculty who hold overload or other assignments outside of their regular contract assignment. Unless specifically stated to the contrary, the term “faculty” in Article V of this Agreement shall pertain to adjunct faculty. Temporary assignments of adjunct faculty will be made by management (within the limitations of the procedures set forth below) and shall be compensated as outlined in Article VIII. Except as delineated in this Agreement, adjunct faculty have no rights other than those provided in the California Education Code. The parties agree that all part-time faculty assignments are temporary in nature contingent on enrollment, funding, and program changes, and that no part-time faculty member has a reasonable assurance of continued employment at any point in time, regardless of the status, the length of service, or re-employment preference seniority, of the part-time faculty member. The District reserves the right of assignment.

  • Travel time allowance All employees shall be paid an allowance (See Appendix A) for each day on which they present themselves for work. The allowance shall also be paid for rostered days off.

  • More Time Needed If the Engineer determines or reasonably anticipates that the work authorized in a work authorization cannot be completed before the specified completion date, the Engineer shall promptly notify the State. The State may, at its sole discretion, extend the work authorization period by execution of supplemental authorization, using the form attached hereto as Attachment D. F-2. Changes in Scope. Changes that would modify the scope of the work authorized in a work authorization must be enacted by a written supplemental work authorization. The Engineer must allow adequate time for the State to review and approve any request for a time extension prior to expiration of the work authorization. If the change in scope affects the amount payable under the work authorization, the Engineer shall prepare a revised work authorization budget for the State's approval.

  • Specialist Schools Allowance Funding equivalent to that which a maintained school with the Academy's characteristics would receive in respect of their participation in the specialist schools programme. In the year of conversion, this may continue to be paid by the Local Authority;

  • Criminal Records Bureau Checks The Academy shall comply with the requirements of paragraph 4 of the Schedule to the Education (Independent School Standards) (England) Regulations 2003 (as amended) in relation to carrying out enhanced criminal records checks, obtaining enhanced criminal records certificates and making any further checks, as required and appropriate for members of staff, supply staff, individual Governors and the Chair of the Governing Body.

  • SHOP XXXXXXX The Shop Xxxxxxx shall be a County employee as selected by the Union. A list of shop stewards will be kept current and sent by the Union to each department head and to Human Resources. Duties required by the Union of its stewards, except attendance at meetings with the County, supervisory personnel and aggrieved employees arising out of a grievance already initiated by an employee under Article 14 hereof, shall not interfere with their or other employees, regular work assignments as employees of the County. The shop xxxxxxx, or their designee, involved with a particular grievance must be identified at Step 1 of the grievance procedure and will be designated as the only bargaining unit employee who will be able to gather information pertaining to that particular grievance. The Union will make reasonable efforts to control the amount of investigative time spent between the shop xxxxxxx and the aggrieved employee. Meetings scheduled with management and other proper investigative procedures, and attendance at meetings specified in Steps 1 and 2 of the grievance procedure shall be considered hours worked for compensation purposes to the extent such meetings occur during the normal hours of work, and not otherwise. In order to use union leave for this purpose, Shop Stewards must notify the supervisor/department head of meetings and other commitments at the time these are scheduled. Attendance at meetings specified in Step 3 of the grievance procedure shall be considered hours worked during regularly scheduled business hours of the County for the xxxxxxx involved, witnesses and the grievant. The County shall not be liable for any overtime as a result of the meeting. Witnesses and the shop xxxxxxx involved shall be granted leave with pay to the extent their presence at the proceedings is required. If it is a discharge case the grievant shall not be paid except as provided in a remedy awarded.
