Head of Education. The Head of Education takes responsibility for all programmes and activities associated with Initial Teacher Training within the Education Department and will liaise with other areas across and beyond the University to develop the teacher training Partnership. Specifically the Head of Education should: • Ensure that all ITT programmes and activities comply with the quality and standards of the University; • Review, on a regular basis, ITT course content and materials, updating it when and where required; • Review and synthesise the outcomes of research studies in ITT to develop and disseminate new insights, within the Partnership, thereby contributing to the development of thought and practice in the Partnership; • Work in conjunction with others to develop and apply subject knowledge to practice within the Partnership; • Lead and develop ITT networks by chairing and participating in Partnership committees; • Resolve problems affecting the quality of course delivery and student progress across all ITT programmes, referring more serious matters to others, as appropriate; • Develop and communicate a clear vision of ITT’s strategic direction with the Partnership; • Resolve in liaison with others, student issues/problems across ITT programmes including those relating to school experience. • Act to resolve problems within the Partnership affecting the delivery of programmes in accordance with University regulations, including quality assurance processes; • Monitor student teacher progress and retention across ITT programmes within the Partnership; • Identify opportunities for strategic development of new ITT projects and appropriate areas of activity and contribute to the development of such areas within the Partnership; • Make decisions regarding the operational aspects of ITT programmes and/or routes.

Specifically, in relation to School Direct, the Head of Education should: • Ensure that the programme complies with the quality and standards of the University; • Review and synthesise the outcomes of research studies in ITT to develop and disseminate new insights, within the Partnership, thereby contributing to the development of thought and practice in the Partnership; • Lead and develop ITT networks by chairing and participating in Partnership committees; • Resolve problems affecting the quality of course delivery and trainee progress • Develop and communicate a clear vision of ITT’s strategic direction with the Partnership; • Resolve in liaison with others, trainee issues/problems • Act to resolve problems within the Partnership affecting the delivery of programmes in accordance with University regulations, including quality assurance processes;

  • Board of Education If the unit member and the Association are not satisfied with the decision at Stage 2, the Grievance Committee will file an appeal in writing with the Board of Education within fifteen (15) school days after receiving the decision at Stage 2. The official grievance record maintained by the Superintendent of Schools shall be available for the use of the Board of Education.

  • Union Education If the local union indicates to the Hospital that its members have approved a special assessment for union education in accordance with the CUPE constitution and local union by laws, the Hospital agrees to deduct this assessment. Such assessment will be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established and administered by OCHU/CUPE for this purpose.

  • General Education University Program Requirements All MTA applicable courses require a grade “C” or higher

  • BOARD OF EDUCATION RIGHTS 3.1 The Board, on its own behalf and on behalf of the electors of the District, hereby retains and reserves unto itself, without limitation, all powers, rights, authority, duties, and responsibilities conferred upon and vested in it by the Laws and Constitution of the State of Michigan, and/or the United States, including, but without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the right to:

  • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.

  • Continuing Education The Hospital and the Union recognize that continuing education is important for all employees and that they have shared interests and responsibilities in ensuring equitable access to it.

  • Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund effective January 1st, 2013 and each year thereafter, two thousand ($2,000.00) for the purpose of providing Paid Education Leave. Said Paid Education Leave will be for the purpose of upgrading the Dependent Contractor’s skills in all aspects of trade union functions. Such monies will be paid into a trust fund established by the National Union, Unifor and sent by the Company to the following address: Unifor Education Leave Program c/o Unifor 000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxxxx, XX X0X 0X0 The Company further agrees that members of the bargaining unit selected by the Union to attend such courses will be granted a Leave of Absence without pay for twenty (20) days class time, plus travel time where necessary, with said Leave of Absence to be intermittent over a twelve (12) month period from the first day of leave. Dependent Contractors on such leave will continue to accrue seniority and benefits during such leave.

  • Special Education Special education services, related services, and accommodations for students who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or any applicable provisions of state law, shall be provided in accordance with applicable state and federal law, this Agreement and Authorizer rules and policies. The Authorizer is the LEA for purposes of ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all other federal and state laws and regulations concerning accommodation of and education of students with disabilities.

  • Professional and Education Leaves (a) Leave of absence with pay or without pay may be granted to employees to attend professional and educational meetings, courses, or other events which may be judged beneficial to the employee's professional development, especially as it relates to her responsibilities with the Employer.
