Health Insurance - Unpaid Leave Of Absence. Health insurance benefits shall continue for up to a period of three (3) months during any approved unpaid leave of absence. Health insurance benefits for an employee on a leave due to an injury sustained while in the performance of his/her duties shall continue for a period of up to one (1) year of an unpaid leave of absence. This benefit is in excess of the six (6) months of paid leave as defined in Section 8.11 above.

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.
