Super Seniority In the event of a layoff, the Plant Chairperson, Committeepersons and Stewards shall have super seniority.
State Seniority State Seniority" is defined as the length of employment with the State of Minnesota since the last date of hire.
Role of Seniority A reduction in force shall be based on seniority within a department, discipline or specialty, provided that the senior staff have appropriate qualifications and are providing satisfactory service. Whenever possible, an employee shall be given an opportunity to serve the College in some other capacity for which he/she is qualified. This clause applies to all employees, including those on leave at time of reduction of staff.
Seniority Frozen When an Agency intends to initiate a layoff, the Agency will notify the Union in writing that all seniority will be frozen from the date of notice for a period not to exceed three (3) months. However, during the period when seniority is frozen, the employee will continue to accumulate time towards seniority for purposes of future computations. The three (3) month freeze may be extended by mutual written agreement of the Union and the Agency.
Seniority List The Employer shall maintain a seniority list showing the date upon which each employee's service commenced. An up-to-date seniority list shall be sent to the Union and posted on all bulletin boards in January of each year.
Company Seniority An employee's total accumulated time of employment with the Company which has not been interrupted by a continuous period in excess of six (6) months.
Ties in Seniority Ties in classification seniority shall be broken by City seniority. Ties in City seniority shall be broken randomly.
Seniority Lists A copy of the seniority list will be posted by January 31st and July 31st of each calendar year on designated bulletin boards with a copy forwarded to the bargaining unit president. Included in the list shall be a breakdown of total hours paid for part-time employees. All lists will include date of hire. Any errors noted in the seniority list should be noted and the employer notified within thirty (30) days, after which the list shall be considered final.
CASUAL SENIORITY EMPLOYEE LIST On or before September 1, 2016, School Boards shall establish a seniority list for casual/temporary employees, where a list does not currently exist. This will be a separate list from permanent employees and shall have as its sole purpose to track length of service with the Board. Further, the list shall have no other force or effect on local collective agreements other than those that may already exist for casual/temporary employees in the 2008-12 local collective agreement.
Seniority Roster The District shall maintain an updated seniority roster, indicating employee's class seniority and hire date seniority. Such rosters shall be available to CSEA.
