Common use of Holiday allowance Clause in Contracts

Holiday allowance. Each year you are paid a holiday allowance of 8% of your individual job salary, any performance­related allowance, shift work allowance and/or adjustment allowance applying to you on the payment date. The holiday allowance is calculated over a period of 12 months. The 12 months period can be the same as the calendar year, but not necessarily. Your employer sets the payment date, which must be between 1 May and 1 July of a year. If the allowance period is the same as a calendar year and you commence employment after the payment date or if your probationary period has not yet been completed on the payment date, you will receive the holiday allowance no later than in the month of December in that year. If your employment contract commences or terminates in the interim or if your working hours are changed, the holiday allowance will be calculated pro rata and if necessary settled. If your employment contract terminates due to your retirement, there will be no settlement of holiday allowance paid in excess. Your employer can also pay the holiday allowance on a monthly basis or include it in an à la carte employment benefits system.
