HUMAN RIGHTS FRAMEWORK IN THE EU. The legal basis of the human rights framework in the EU is enshrined in Article 6 TEU which embodies the rights, freedoms and principles set out in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (ECHR).221 The ECHR was drafted in 1950 in Rome and entered into force in 1953, namely after the proclamation of the UDHR and the World War II.   • Compliance with Civil Rights Laws The Contractor hereby assures that it will comply with Subchapter VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 USC Sections 2000 (e) (1) through 2000 (e) (17), to the end that no person shall, on the grounds of race, creed, color, sex, religion, ancestry, age, condition of physical handicap, marital status, political affiliation, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under this Contract or under any project, program, or activity supported by this Contract. The Contractor shall comply with Exhibit D - Contractor’s EEO Certification.

  • Civil Rights A. Xxxxxxx agrees to comply with state and federal anti-discrimination laws, including: i. Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. §2000d et seq.); ii. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. §794); iii. Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. §12101 et seq.);

  • CIVIL RIGHTS ACT This Agreement is subject to the compliance requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as amended (42 U.S.C. § 2000d) relating to nondiscrimination in Federally assisted programs. The Performer has signed an Assurance of Compliance with the nondiscriminatory provisions of the Act.

  • Anti-slavery and human trafficking The Supplier shall: ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of its business or in any part of its supply chain; implement due diligence procedures for its own suppliers, subcontractors and other participants in its supply chains, to ensure that there is no slavery or human trafficking in its supply chains; respond promptly to all slavery and human trafficking due diligence questionnaires issued to it by the British Council from time to time and ensure that its responses to all such questionnaires are complete and accurate; and notify the British Council as soon as it becomes aware of any actual or suspected slavery or human trafficking in any part of its business or in a supply chain which has a connection with this Agreement. If the Supplier fails to comply with any of its obligations under clause 13.1, without prejudice to any other rights or remedies which the British Council may have, the British Council shall be entitled to: terminate this Agreement without liability to the Supplier immediately on giving notice to the Supplier; and/or reduce, withhold or claim a repayment (in full or in part) of the charges payable under this Agreement; and/or share with third parties information about such non-compliance.

  • Civil Rights Requirements The Recipient agrees that it must comply with applicable federal civil rights laws, regulations, and requirements, and follow applicable federal guidance, except as the Federal Government determines otherwise in writing. Therefore, unless a Recipient or a federal program, including the Indian Tribe Recipient or the Tribal Transit Program, is specifically exempted from a civil rights statute, FTA requires compliance with each civil rights statute, including compliance with equity in service requirements.

  • Family and Medical Leave The Employer shall provide employees with the benefits of the Family and Medical Leave Act on a fair and equitable basis in accordance with applicable law and regulation.
