Indigenous People. (emphasis added). An express purpose of the constitutional amendment was stated to be “to increase the guiding principles enunciated in the Preamble … upon which the Nation of Belize is founded.”
Indigenous People. 21. In the event any issues related to indigenous people arise in the course of Project implementation, the Borrower and the States shall ensure to address those issues in accordance with the applicable laws and policies of the Borrower, ADB's Policy on Indigenous Peoples (1998) and the Indigenous Peoples Development Framework for the Facility as agreed between the Borrower, the States and ADB and incorporated by reference into Schedule 5 to the FFA.
Indigenous People. The Borrower shall ensure that the livelihood improvement and ethnic minority development plan prepared for the Project will be implemented in accordance with applicable government policies and procedures and ADB policies, specifically ADB’s Policy on Indigenous Peoples, 1998. The Borrower shall further ensure that the Project will maintain equal opportunities for ethnic minority communities and staff in training, and integrating cultural sensitivities in Project implementation.
Indigenous People. The Borrower through DENR shall ensure that an indigenous peoples development plan is prepared in accordance with ADB’s Policy on Indigenous Peoples (1998) in case the presence of indigenous people is identified who may be significantly affected. Implementation of the Project activities at such sites shall be conditional on ADB’s approval of the relevant indigenous peoples development plan.
Indigenous People. The Borrower shall ensure that the preparation, design, construction, implementation and operation of the Project and all Project facilities comply with (a) all applicable laws and regulations of the Guarantor relating to indigenous people;
Indigenous People. The Borrower shall ensure that: (a) the selection criteria for Subprojects include provisions to provide that indigenous peoples and other vulnerable groups are part of the capacity-building, planning, implementation, and post-implementation Project processes; and (b) minority and marginalized groups are represented on CIOs and CIO representation committees in proportion to their overall population in the community; and will benefit from anticipated Project benefits with respect to service delivery, rural infrastructure, training, and construction-related jobs in accordance with ADB’s Policy on Indigenous Peoples (1998).
Indigenous People. The project has been classified as Category C on indigenous peoples following ADB’s Safeguard Policy Statement, 2009 (SPS). The Project is not expected to impact any distinct and vulnerable group of indigenous peoples as defined under SPS.
Indigenous People. Should respect the rights, cultures, and beliefs of indigenous people, and treat them in a culturally appropriate manner. Should avoid activity that may have an adverse impact on the indigenous population.
Indigenous People. The Borrower shall ensure that the Project shall not cause any negative impact on indigenous people. In the event of any unanticipated or unforeseen negative impact on the indigenous people, the Borrower shall ensure that the Project is implemented in accordance with ADB’s Policy on Indigenous People (1998).
Indigenous People. The Borrower and BR shall ensure that the preparation, design, construction, implementation and operation of the Project and all Project facilities comply with (a) all applicable laws and regulations of the Borrower relating to indigenous peoples; (b) the Indigenous Peoples Safeguards; and (c) all measures and requirements set forth in the IPP, and any corrective or preventative actions set forth in a Safeguards Monitoring Report.
