Infectious Disease Control Training. A. The State and IUOE recognize the need to continue to provide general information about infectious diseases for employees of State Hospitals, Veteran's Affairs, Developmental Services, Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Health Services, Parks and Recreation, Caltrans, and in other Departments where employees come into contact with court assigned workers or inmates, wards, parolees, clients, patients or resident workers. B. The departments listed in "A" above will annually provide to Bargaining Xxxx 00 employees in-service training regarding infectious diseases. This training will be provided by a health care professional or a qualified and knowledgeable trainer at least once a year. All trainers will possess demonstrable education and/or experience in the areas being taught. This training may include the following: 1. Identification of infectious disease(s) that are of concern to Bargaining Unit 12 members in the working environment; and 2. General information regarding these diseases including, but not limited to the following: a. how the disease is transmitted; b. symptoms; c. courses of treatment; d. methods and procedures that should be followed to prevent contracting disease. C. Bargaining Unit 12 members will attend this training on State time. Training may be provided more often if deemed necessary. D. It is understood by the parties that the listed departments currently have training and information resources that can be used for purposes of in-service training.

Infectious Disease Control Training. A. The State will continue to provide in-service training in infectious disease control and isolation procedures. For licensed hospitals, such training shall be consistent with California Administrative Code Title 22. For other clinical settings including the Department of Education Special Schools, such training shall reflect the needs of the work environment. B. The Departments of Developmental Services, Mental Health, Veterans Affairs and Corrections hospitals will continue to provide in-service training in infectious disease control and isolation procedures consistent with California Administrative Code Title 22. C. The State agrees that, upon request of CSEA, a special meeting of the Unit 20 Professional Practice Group, provided for under Article 13, or the Health and Safety Committees provided for under Article 10.2 will be held at each facility to review the safety procedures, equipment, and materials relating to treating patients and clients with blood- borne diseases such as hepatitis or acquired immune deficiency syndrome.
Infectious Disease Control Training. A. The Departments of Developmental Services and Mental Health shall provide in-service training in infectious disease control and isolation procedures to Hospital Workers consistent with California Administrative Code Title 22. Upon request, other Unit 15 employees in the Departments of Mental Health and Developmental Services may be provided with Infectious Disease Control Training when space is available in scheduled courses and when these employees can be relieved of his/her regular duties. B. In other departments when similar training is scheduled for all employees, Unit 15 employees will be provided an opportunity to participate in such training.

  • Infectious Diseases The Employer and the Union desire to arrest the spread of infectious diseases in the nursing home. To achieve this objective, the Joint Health and Safety Committee may review and offer input into infection control programs and protocols including surveillance, outbreak control, isolation, precautions, worker education and training, and personal protective equipment. The Employer will provide training and ongoing education in communicable disease recognition, use of personal protective equipment, decontamination of equipment, and disposal of hazardous waste.

  • Accidents and Dangerous Occurrences The Hirer must report all accidents involving injury to the public to a member of the Village Hall management committee as soon as possible and complete the relevant section in the Village Hall’s accident book. Any failure of equipment belonging to the Village Hall or brought in by the Hirer must also be reported as soon as possible. Certain types of accident or injury must be reported on a special form to the local authority. The Hall Secretary will give assistance in completing this form. This is in accordance with the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 (RIDDOR).
