Infectious Disease Control. A. The State shall provide all employees in twenty-four (24)-hour institutions in- service training on infectious disease control. New employees, and current employees who have not received training, shall be provided training on infectious disease control. B. Training shall be provided for employees in the Departments of Health Services, Industrial Relations, Developmental Services, Mental Health, Rehabilitation, and the California Environmental Protection Agency whose laboratory, research, testing, or regulatory duties may expose them to infectious diseases. C. When an outbreak of infectious, contagious, or communicable diseases/conditions is known, the State shall notify potentially exposed employees at the work site. D. Infectious Disease Control Training shall include, but not be limited, to blood borne and air borne diseases. E. The State shall utilize the best guidelines available. Examples of guidelines may include the use of the Joint Advisory Notices issued by the Center for Disease Control. For licensed hospitals, such training shall be consistent with the California Code of Regulations.

The State agrees that, upon request of CSEA, a special meeting of the Professional Practice Group, provided for under Article 22, or the Health and Safety Committees provided for under Article 10.1 will be held at each facility to review the safety procedures, equipment, and materials relating to treating patients and clients with blood-borne diseases such as hepatitis or acquired immune deficiency syndrome.

Infectious Disease Control. In conjunction with the Health Protection Agency (HPA), Wolverhampton Council investigates all cases of actual or suspected food poisoning and food borne infectious disease. The response is determined by: - • The nature of the (suspected) illness • The number of cases • The nature of the employment of affected individuals • The previous record of implicated food businesses Outbreaks, as defined through agreement with the HPA’s Consultant in Communicable Disease Control, (CCDC) are responded to immediately. All are investigated with a view to further formal action if deemed appropriate. Approximately 260 - 300 individual cases are notified to the service every year. In an average year roughly 1% of these would be defined as outbreaks. In all cases implicating known food hazards the standards contained in the document ‘Food Handlers - Fitness to Work’ are observed. Consideration is being given to providing translated versions of the leaflets given to cases of infectious disease investigated by the service. A proportion of those cases investigated by the service are also sent a questionnaire asking to give their opinion of the service and advice given by the investigating officer. To date, the results indicate a high level of satisfaction with the service.

Infectious Disease Control. Respond to requests from Department of Human Services to investigate cases of infectious disease and implement appropriate action. • Consult with and advise Medical Practitioners as appropriate, in the investigation and control of infectious diseases. • Comply with all instructions issued by Council’s Medical Officer of Health regarding health and welfare matters. • As required, participate in the monitoring of mosquito activity and control across the local area. • Liaise with officers from appropriate Government Departments and provide appropriate advice and/or direction where necessary. • Exercise the delegate powers as a duly authorised officer under the Local Government Act and the Health Act and attend to all complaints received referring to alleged nuisances and pest infestations, affecting investigations necessary and initiate appropriate action to correct the cause of complaint. • Administer the Septic Tank Code of Practice in relation to septic tank installations. • Exercise the delegated powers under the provision of the Environmental Protection Act, 1970 in respect of domestic sewerage systems. • Participate in an ongoing program of inspections of existing septic tanks and other domestic sewerage treatment systems as directed. • Contribute to and participate in the implementation of the Indigo Domestic Wastewater Management Plan. • Provide advice and recommendations regarding the suitability of proposed developments necessitating liquid waste disposal other than by reticulated sewerage. • Respond to complaints received concerning septic tank installations and assist with the resolution of problems by the provision of advice and/or direction. Provide information and guidelines to landowners, plumbers and builders on an over the counter basis where possible. • Assist with the preparation of annual reports required by Department of Human Services, the Environment Protection Authority, Mount Hotham Resort Management, Falls Creek Alpine Resort Management and as required / directed by the Team Leader Building Services and Environmental Health or the Manager Planning and Sustainable Development. • Assist with preparation of appropriate applications for subsidies and grants appropriate to this service area. • Assist with preparation of reports to the Municipal Association of Victoria regarding activities under the Tobacco Act, 1987.

  • Erosion Control a. The Purchaser shall construct slash and debris erosion barriers, dips, water bars or ditches in skid trails and landings as directed by the Forest Officer. b. The kinds and frequency of erosion control structures shall be adjusted to soil types, topography and climatic conditions as directed by the Forest Officer. c. The Purchaser is required to recontour any excavated skid trails, and provide for effective erosion control in the trail location as directed by the Forest Officer. d. Erosion control work shall commence as soon as skidding is completed on each skid trail or landing, and must be kept current with unit operations. e. Erosion control work shall be completed and approved by the Forest Officer in unfinished units before operations cease for inactive periods including heavy winter snowfall, spring breakup and restricted dates. f. All erosion control work in each unit shall be completed prior to notification pursuant to Section VII.M.7.
