Common use of Initial Probation Clause in Contracts

Initial Probation. Upon appointment as a Police Officer, a member will be required to successfully complete a probationary period. The probationary period shall begin on the first day for which the member receives compensation from the Township and shall continue thereafter for a period of three hundred sixty-five (365) days or three hundred sixty-five (365) days after certification as a peace officer, whichever is later. A probationary member may be terminated at any time during this probationary period and shall have no recourse to the arbitration procedure concerning probationary termination, nor may the member appeal such termination in the Court of Common Pleas pursuant to Section 505.491, et seq. of the Ohio Revised Code.
