TERMINAL LEAVE Any employee who is separated from State service for any reason including layoff shall receive within seven (7) days a lump sum payment for the number of hours of accrued annual leave at the employee's annualized hourly rate of pay.
PRIVATE BUSINESS/GENERAL/PERSONAL LEAVES OF ABSENCE 12.1 Teachers shall be allowed personal leave up to and including five (5) days in any one school year with the loss of substitutes’ pay only, and shall be deducted full salary for days absent for personal reasons in excess of five
Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:
Volunteer Firefighting Leave Leave without pay will be granted when an employee who is a volunteer firefighter is called to duty to respond to a fire, natural disaster or medical emergency.
Maternity/Parental/Adoption Leave Maternity/Parental/Adoption leave shall be granted as a right as per the Employment Standards Act.
Personal Leave Accrual All employees shall accrue personal leave at the rate of one and twenty-three hundredths (1.23) hours for each eighty (80) hours in active pay status, excluding overtime hours, not to exceed a total of thirty-two (32) hours accrued in one year.
Personal Leave Day A. An employee may choose one (1) workday as a personal leave day each fiscal year during the life of this Agreement if the employee has been continuously employed for more than four (4) months.
Health Leave Any regular employee of the District may, at the discretion of the Board, be granted a leave of absence without pay for reasons of health, such leave to be specified for a period of not more than one year. Such leave may be extended in case of serious health conditions.
Other leave entitlements (a) An employee proceeding on unpaid parental leave may elect to substitute any part of that leave with long service leave, or annual leave where applicable, for the whole or part of the period of unpaid parental leave.
Unused Personal Leave Since a number for the available personal leave days has been established, a basic discussion will need to be had regarding unused personal leave days. Naturally, these differ from vacation days since the Employer will not always be required to pay the Employee when personal leave is taken. If a dollar amount will be attached to each personal leave day that is unused so that it can be paid to that Employee then, select the first checkbox presented in the list of options provided and record the dollar amount that shall be paid for one unused personal day.
